You will provide leadership, guidance, and development for a team of 20+ Master Control Operators, with a strong focus on training, skills development, operational consistency, and performance management.\nMajor Responsibilities\nSupervise the day-to-day operations of the Media Operations Center.\nLead, train, and mentor new Master Control Operators, ensuring they are fully prepared to perform their responsibilities independently and consistently.\nProvide ongoing training, refresher training, and skills development for current Master Control Operators.\nSupport the team during live local newscasts, breaking news, and local or network sports events.\nAssist the Senior Manager of the Media Operations Center with developing, implementing, and training staff on new processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures.\nMonitor operator performance and provide timely coaching, feedback, and corrective guidance when necessary.\nEnsure completion of daily operational tasks and adherence to established workflows, policies, and procedures.\nServe as a liaison between the Media Operations Center and internal or external partners, including Station General Managers, Traffic, On-Air Promotion, Programming, Engineering, News, and other operational teams.\nPerform Master Control Operator duties when operational needs require.\nAssist with incident review, root-cause analysis, documentation, and corrective-action plans.\nSupport staffing needs, including attendance management, call-ins, shift coverage, and unscheduled absences.\nPrepare and participate in employee performance evaluations and annual reviews.\nPromote positive employee relations and maintain a professional, respectful, and accountable work environment.\nAssist with special projects, reporting, and operational improvement initiatives as needed.\nApproach operations, staffing, and process improvement with an agile and lean mindset.\nQualifications\nThree or more years of experience as a Master Control Operator, Master Control Technician, or in a comparable role within television, media, or content operations.\nDemonstrated leadership, coaching, training, or supervisory experience preferred.\nExperience with on-air Master Control automation systems.\nExperience with cloud-based playout systems; AMAGI CLOUDPORT experience is a plus.\nStrong written communication skills, including the ability to create and maintain technical operating procedures. This is required.\nExperience troubleshooting operational issues involving playout, media, closed captioning, and related broadcast systems.\nExperience with digital workflows and digital video technologies.\nExperience with content ingest, playout, distribution systems, and related hardware.\nExperience switching live local newscasts and sporting events. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates’ relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
