This is a hands-on role for a technically strong professional who enjoys solving complex data challenges, building scalable data solutions, and turning enterprise data into actionable business insights. The ideal candidate will have strong experience across Snowflake, dbt, Power BI, Python, data modeling, and enterprise data integration. You will be responsible for developing reliable data pipelines, creating enterprise semantic models, automating reporting processes, and delivering executive-level dashboards and KPI reporting. You will also have the opportunity to leverage modern AI-powered development tools, including Snowflake Cortex, Claude, and OpenAI Codex, to accelerate development, optimize code, troubleshoot data challenges, and improve productivity. This is a full-time, onsite position based at our corporate headquarters in Downers Grove, Illinois.\nQualifications\nQualifications\nSnowflake\n4+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, business intelligence, or a related field.\nExpert-level experience with Snowflake and advanced SQL optimization.\nExtensive experience ingesting structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data from multiple enterprise sources.\nStrong understanding of Snowflake security, governance, performance optimization, and data-sharing capabilities.\nExperience with Streams, Tasks, Snowpipe, and Zero-Copy Cloning.\n\ndbt & Data Modeling\nExpert-level experience with dbt for enterprise data transformation and modeling.\nStrong knowledge of Star Schema and Kimball dimensional modeling.\nExperience with incremental models, snapshots/SCDs, Jinja macros, packages, and seeds.\nExperience implementing data tests, source freshness monitoring, documentation, and data quality frameworks.\nStrong Git experience, including branching, pull requests, code reviews, and CI/CD workflows.\n\n Power BI & Analytics\nAdvanced experience developing Power BI dashboards, semantic models, and KPI reporting.\nStrong proficiency with complex DAX and advanced filter-context calculations.\nExperience developing executive dashboards and paginated reports.\nKnowledge of Power BI workspace administration, Premium capacities, deployment pipelines, refresh management, and Row-Level Security (RLS).\nExperience troubleshooting and optimizing Power BI performance using Performance Analyzer, DAX Studio, and/or Tabular Editor.\n\nPython & Automation\nAdvanced Python skills for ETL, data manipulation, automation, and integration.\nExperience integrating with REST and GraphQL APIs and loading data into cloud storage such as Azure Blob Storage or AWS S3.\nAbility to build fault-tolerant solutions handling API pagination, rate limits, errors, and retries.\nExperience with Streamlit for internal applications and data tools.\nExperience automating report generation and distribution using HTML/PDF, SMTP, SendGrid, AWS SES, or similar technologies.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience configuring and managing Fivetran connectors for automated data replication into Snowflake.\nExperience with large-scale batch and streaming data ingestion.\nExperience working with ERP, CRM, billing, financial, operational, and other core business applications.\nExperience using generative AI tools to develop, optimize, and troubleshoot data and analytics solutions.\n\nProfessional Requirements\nHighly self-driven with the ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with the team.\nExcellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.\nAbility to take ownership of projects from requirements through implementation and delivery.\nThe candidate must have a car, as this position requires travel between location and the transportation of equipment\nA valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance will be required\nLegally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship\nMust demonstrate a “can-do” attitude\n\nWe focus on candidates that display our “ACE” factor - Attitude, Compassion, and Enthusiasm to deliver quality solutions with exceptional customer service.\nCompensation:\n$80,000 - $120,000\nWhat you get:\nWe offer an energetic work environment with many corporate culture amenities, competitive salary, and rich benefit plan including: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, 529, Life Insurance, Income Protection Short and Long-Term Disability, Medical and Child/Elder Care, Flexible Spending Account Plans, Family Planning Benefits, Financial Education, Identity Theft Protection and Assistance, Legal Services, Employee Assistance Program, Two weeks’ vacation, additional paid time-off for Personal and Sick, certification and hands-on training, and employee discount for product services and entertainment.\nOverview\nMOTIVATED…..make IT happen!\nSentinel Technologies, Inc. has been rated a top workplace every year since 2012!\nAbout Us:\nSentinel delivers solutions that can efficiently address a range of IT needs - from security, to communications, to systems & networks, to software applications, to cloud and managed services; all of which include our staffing solutions for our clients.
