Someone who takes full ownership - from design to production to incident resolution - and drives impact across teams.\nWhat will you do\nPrimary responsibilities include:\n Architect and own large-scale distributed systems end-to-end, from design through production.\nDrive technical direction and best practices across the team and adjacent teams.\nLead delivery of complex, ambiguous initiatives with multiple stakeholders.\nMentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance.\nOwn past incidents - lead root cause analysis, drive permanent fixes, and share learnings broadly.\nCommunicate clearly with stakeholders - translate technical complexity into business context.\nEvaluate technology trade-offs and make pragmatic tech debt decisions that balance speed with long-term health.\nWhat skills and experience should you bring\nIdeal candidates will have:\nEducation & Experience: Bachelor’s + 12 years of experience / Master’s + 8 years / PhD + 5 years.\nCore Engineering:Deep Java internals knowledge - concurrency, JVM, memory model, and performancetuning. Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and system design. Solid experience with unit and integration testing practices. \n\nDistributed Systems & Architecture: Proven experience designing distributed systems - partitioning, consistency, availability trade-offs. Hands-on with event-driven architecture and messaging platforms such as Kafka or SQS. Experience with high-scale API design, database design and sharding, and circuit breaker patterns.\nCloud & Infrastructure: Hands-on with AWS core services: EC2, S3, SQS, IAM. Experience with Docker/containerisation and CI/CD pipelines.\nLeadership & Soft Skills: Strong ownership mindset - takes accountability for outcomes, not just tasks. Proven cross-team influence - drives alignment without formal authority. Track record of mentoring engineers and contributing to their career growth.
