As a Staff Engineer on this founding team, you will lead the design and delivery of the platform's core services - agent and MCP infrastructure, evaluation pipelines, and AI observability that every AI-powered feature at SentinelOne will run on. The best platform work is grounded in product reality: you'll partner closely with product teams, at times building customer-facing AI features alongside them, and platformize what proves valuable.\nThis is a new platform with real, immediate customers - the impact of your work will be visible in every AI capability SentinelOne ships. \nWhat will you do?\nPrimary responsibilities include:\nLead end-to-end design and delivery of core AI Platform services - such as evaluation pipelines, agent and MCP infrastructure, and AI observability - from ambiguous requirements through production\nArchitect solutions for complex platform features with performance, scalability, security, and testability built in from the start\nPartner with product teams: help build customer-facing AI features where needed, and turn the patterns that prove valuable into shared platform services\nContribute to the team's technical roadmap and influence technology selection and build-vs-buy decisions\nOwn operational excellence for the services you build: reliability, observability, capacity planning, deployment strategy, and blameless postmortems\nMentor other engineers on the team through design reviews, code reviews, and technical guidance\nWhat skills and knowledge should you bring?\nPrimary responsibilities include:\n7+ years of experience building and operating backend distributed systems at scale in production\nHands-on experience building LLM-powered systems - for example model API integration, retrieval or agent architectures, evaluation pipelines, or LLM observability\nA track record of leading projects of moderate-to-high complexity end-to-end, including coordinating the work of other engineers\nStrong coding skills in a mainstream backend language (e.g. Python or Java) and solid experience with Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure\nProduct mindset: experience building customer-facing features and translating user and customer needs into technical decisions\nNice to have: experience in cybersecurity or another regulated/high-trust domain; experience building or operating MCP servers\nWhy SentinelOne?\nAI is redefining how the world operates and rewriting the rules of security in real time, and SentinelOne was built for this moment.
