As a Staff Backend Engineer, you will be building SentinelOne’s next-generation cloud-based security platform and are looking for a strong backend software engineer. You’ll enjoy building systems from the ground up, working hands-on in complex, large-scale environments, and taking ownership to drive solutions forward. You will be part of our Collection team.

What Will You Do?

Primary responsibilities include:

• Our Collection Engineering team leads projects that directly impact the company's bottom line - we handle all data collection aspects from the SentinelOne agents (hundreds of billions of events daily), including EDR telemetry, XDR telemetry, forensic data collection, and script orchestration / Remote Operations. Our initiatives start from concepts and evolve into products deployed across millions of endpoints and servers.
• We’re a multidisciplinary team that comprises experts in backend, frontend, and endpoint technologies (Windows, Linux, macOS), enabling us to independently ideate, develop, and deliver solutions at scale.
• As a Staff Backend Engineer, you will implement innovative projects from inception to implementation, shaping the architecture, design, and development of new modules within our comprehensive security platform (in Python and/or Golang, as well as in Java in the future). Operating across multiple strategic product lines, you’ll have a direct and visible impact on the success of key company initiatives.

What Skills and Knowledge Will You Bring?

Ideal candidates will have:

• Multiple years of experience and proficiency in at least one of the high-level languages: Python, Go, Java. 
• Experience with high-performance micro-services-based backend systems, developing cloud-native solutions (leveraging Docker, Kubernetes, AWS / GCP or others) and data pipelines.
• Experience working with databases (both SQL and NOSQL).
• Strong capability to design a solution according to product requirements, great communication skills and ability to work in hybrid and/or remote teams and lead projects.
• Proven experience with developing unit/component tests as part of the development process.
• These would be a plus - Kafka ecosystem (pub/sub, Kafka connect, etc.), experience with large scale SaaS products and performance, Terraform / Terragrunt.
