This position is responsible for coordinating detailing, procurement, fabrication, delivery, and field installation while maintaining project schedules, budgets, quality, and relationships.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nReview contracts, plans, specifications, addenda, and project scope.\nIdentify scope gaps, exclusions, schedule requirements, and potential project risks.\nDevelop and maintain project budgets, schedules, submittal logs, and procurement plans.\nCoordinate shop drawings and engineering with steel detailers, engineers, architects, and general contractors.\nReview shop drawings for scope, constructability, field dimensions, and contract compliance before submission or fabrication.\nManage RFIs, submittals, approvals, design changes, and drawing revisions.\nRelease steel, hardware, joists, decking, stairs, railings, and other materials for purchasing and fabrication.\nCoordinate fabrication priorities and schedules with shop personnel.\nPlan deliveries and erection activities with field supervisors, erectors, crane providers, and general contractors.\nTrack labor, materials, subcontractors, equipment, and overall project costs.\nIdentify extra work and prepare pricing, change-order requests, and supporting documentation.\nReview subcontractor and supplier proposals, purchase orders, and invoices.\nAttend project meetings and provide regular schedule and progress updates.\nResolve fabrication, delivery, and field-installation issues promptly.\nMonitor quality-control requirements and applicable project specifications.\nCoordinate closeout documents, punch-list work, warranties, and final billing.\nMaintain organized and complete project records.\nBuild professional working relationships with customers, vendors, engineers, and field personnel.\nManage multiple active projects and changing priorities.\nQualifications\nThree or more years of structural steel, miscellaneous metals, construction project management, estimating, detailing, or fabrication experience preferred.\nWorking knowledge of structural steel fabrication and erection.\nAbility to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings and specifications.\nUnderstanding of structural steel, joists, decking, stairs, railings, ladders, embeds, and miscellaneous metals.\nKnowledge of common steel connections, welding, bolting, coatings, and fabrication processes.\nStrong scheduling, budgeting, organization, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to communicate effectively with customers, engineers, detailers, shop personnel, and field crews.\nExperience managing RFIs, submittals, purchase orders, and change orders.\nComfortable using construction-management, estimating, scheduling, and Microsoft Office software.\nExperience with Procore, Bluebeam, Tekla, SDS2, or similar software is beneficial.\nValid driver’s license \nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience working for a structural steel fabricator or erector.\nFamiliarity with AISC standards and AWS welding requirements.\nExperience managing projects from detailing through erection.\nSkills and Abilities\nStrong attention to detail and follow-through.\nAbility to anticipate problems and make timely decisions.\nAbility to manage deadlines across multiple projects.\nStrong financial understanding of project cost and profitability.\nProfessional written and verbal communication.\nAbility to lead teams while holding people accountable for schedules and commitments.\nWillingness to visit job sites and fabrication facilities as required.\nPhysical and Travel Requirements\nAbility to work in an office, fabrication shop, and active construction-site environment.\nAbility to walk jobsites, climb stairs and ladders, and access work areas safely.\nOccasional lifting of plans, materials, or equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.\nLocal or regional travel may be required.\nPerformance Expectations\nSuccess in this position will be measured by:\nProjects completed safely and on schedule.\nProjects meeting or exceeding budgeted gross profit.\nAccurate and timely submittals, purchasing, and fabrication releases.\nProper documentation and recovery of change-order work.\nMinimal fabrication errors, field conflicts, and rework.\nTimely billing and project closeout.\nStrong customer satisfaction and communication.\nWhat We Offer\nCompetitive compensation based on experience.\nHealth and other employee benefits.\nPaid time off and paid holidays.\nCompany-provided technology and necessary work equipment.\nProfessional development and advancement opportunities.\nStable work with a growing construction and fabrication company.\nEmployment Status\nFull-time, salaried position.
