As we continue to grow, we’re strengthening our internal foundations - and that’s where you come in.\nAbout the role\nAs a Bioinformatics Engineer, you will have the opportunity to build your skillset as you engage\nclients across a variety of technical fields. Build pipelines to process cutting-edge biological data\nand to help our clients deploy these pipelines using high performance batch computing, cloud\nstorage, virtual private networks, and modern identity systems.\nYour mission will be to:\nCreate robust and reproducible scientific workflows using Nextflow - making them available to customers to analyze and visualize data.\n\nDevelop and deliver solutions to increase adoption of Seqera products in the customer base.\n\nDevelop, deploy, and maintain cloud data infrastructures capable of processing data related to next-generation sequencing (NGS), imaging analysis, machine learning and related large datasets.\n\nUnderstand the biological application and scientific needs underlying relevant scientific workflows.\n\nClearly communicate updates on services delivery, including project plans, requirements, deliverables, documentation, and training, through both writing and presentations.\n\nEngage with customers on requirements, developing project deliverables and coordinating the execution of projects.\n\nTrain customers to use Seqera products.\n\nRepresent the voice of the customer and collaborate internally with content, research, and software development teams.\n\nAbout you\nWe are looking for someone with:\nStrong knowledge of the Nextflow language and the pipeline development approaches adopted by nf-core.\n\nExperience with programming in languages such as Groovy, Python and R.\n\nAbility to effectively communicate and clearly explain technology to different audiences, through code, writing, presentations and demos.\n\nUse of AI for software development and scientific analysis.\n\nUse ofGit or other version control systems in a software development environment.\n\nIn-depth experience with analysis pipelines and algorithms for a variety of ‘omics’ data types, such as genomics, proteomics, metabolomics etc.\n\nExperience with HPC and public cloud (AWS, Google, Azure) architectures and a willingness to learn more.\n\nA customer-oriented attitude, someone who enjoys working with others and helping find solutions.\n\nNice to have:\nPhD in bioinformatics or a relevant field or Masters + 3 years experience\n\n4+ years experience relevant to scientific workflows and software development\n\nExperience with orchestrated, and maintained data infrastructures and scalable pipelines for large datasets\n\nSolid track record of production level code in bioinformatics as evidenced by public code repositories, publications, contributions to open source.\n\nYour unique set of skills are:\nSelf-motivated and a proactive thinker - can work independently and in teams\n\nGreat interpersonal and communication skills.\n\nCritical thinker and problem-solving skills.\n\nAn eye for detail and well organized.\n\nCreativity & curiosity across all solutions given to clients\n\nHow to apply:\nInclude a link to a public code repository, plus a short narrative (a few paragraphs) that tells us:\nWhat the repository shows about your ability,\n\nHow it shows your growth over time,\n\nHow you have used AI to accelerate your work without handing over your judgment.\n\nWe read the repository and the narrative closely.
