As we continue to grow, we’re strengthening our internal foundations - and that’s where you come in.\nAbout the role\nWe’re looking for a Fullstack Software Engineer to join the Platform team. You’ll work across the stack on the Seqera Platform, the product scientists use to run Nextflow pipelines on cloud and HPC. The work covers API design, data modelling, cloud provider integrations and front end, mostly in Java, Groovy, Angular and Micronaut.\nThe team is small (about 4 to 5 engineers plus a lead) and the scope is broad. You’ll own an area end to end, help shape architecture decisions, and work with Product and Infrastructure. Experienced engineers on the team are there for consultation.\nWhat You'll Do\nDesign and implement REST APIs and downstream services using Groovy, Java and the Micronaut framework ensuring their scalability, security, and performance.\n\nImplement UI components and services in Angular interacting with the Seqera Platform API.\n\nWrite high-quality, clean, maintainable code using engineering best practices - unit testing, source control, continuous integration, automation, design patterns, etc.\n\nAnalyze requirements, design and develop features based on the product requirements\n\nBuild E2E tests to verify the integration between backend implementation and clients\n\nOptimize application for maximum performance and scalability.\n\nTake design decisions within your scope and document the system so it is not dependent on any one person.\n\nDesign data models and APIs that stay consistent across services and releases.\n\nBuild reusable code and components for future use.\n\nCollaborate with the Engineering, Product, Infrastructure and Design teams to improve the product.\n\nAbout you\n4+ years building and operating production backend services, with real ownership of at least one.\n\nStrong in Java and/or Groovy, with Micronaut, Spring Boot or similar.\n\nYou care about correctness. Ideally you have worked on billing, metering or other systems where incorrect data has consequences - and if not, you bring the same rigour to data integrity anyway.\n\nComfortable designing REST APIs and data models, and keeping integrations working across versions and failures.\n\nProficiency in Typescript and Angular or React\n\nFamiliarity with CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) practices and tools like Jenkins or Github Actions\n\nHave been accountable for something customer-facing in production.\n\nComfortable inheriting a system, asking questions, and writing down what was never documented.\n\nComfortable with ambiguity - you develop hypotheses with limited information, drive work independently, and reach out early to stay unblocked.\n\nWe use AI every day and expect engineers to use it extensively. You do not need to be an expert, but you must be genuinely open to it.\n\nNice to have:\nPrevious experience in writing event based systems is a plus.\n\nExperience with the Gradle build system\n\nExperience with Docker and related toolset.\n\nExperience with Kubernetes deployment model and operations.\n\nExperience with E2E testing framework such as Cypress or Playwright\n\nUnderstanding of how to deploy systems for cloud applications.\n\nKnowledge of one or more cloud vendor services and APIs.\n\nExperience with scientific data analysis workflows and execution engines.\n\nExperience designing and implementing microservices and highly parallel applications.\n\nExperience in bioinformatics and genomics.\n\nA maintainer or a proven track of
