Our main stack is Ruby on Rails and React, but we care more about strong engineering fundamentals, product judgment and the ability to work across the stack when needed.\nYou won’t receive a perfectly specified backlog. You’ll be expected to help create the work: understand merchants and the business, challenge assumptions, work through ambiguity and decide with the team what is worth building.\nHow we build at seQura\nAI-assisted development is how our engineers work every day. We use AI agents to think through problems, write, review and iterate on code, and we're looking for engineers who already work this way, or are actively making the shift.\nWhat matters to us isn't whether you know the syntax and idioms of your preferred programming language or tech stack by heart. It's whether you understand the problem you're solving, can explain the business logic behind it, and own every line you ship, no matter who (or what) wrote it first.\nAI helps you move faster, challenge assumptions, explore different approaches and improve your solutions. But knowing which questions to ask, making sound technical and product decisions, and taking responsibility for the outcome is always up to you.\nOur technical interviews reflect this approach: you'll use your own AI tools, and we'll ask you to walk us through your solution, both the business reasoning and the code.\nIf you're only interested in technical challenges without engaging in the product decisions behind them, or you'd rather not work with AI, this probably isn't the right role for you.\nAbout the Merchant Experience team\nWe build the B2B product experiences that help merchants manage and grow their business with seQura.\nThe team owns merchant-facing products and the platform behind them, including order management, analytics, self-service capabilities, growth initiatives and platform features used by other B2B teams.\nWe are a small team of senior Product Engineers and a Product Designer, with no dedicated Product Manager by design.\nEngineers are expected to contribute beyond implementation: understanding problems, shaping opportunities, making product and technical decisions, shipping solutions and checking their outcomes.\nInitiatives are led by engineers who take ownership of a problem, gather context, define the hypothesis and success criteria, shape the work, drive delivery and follow up after launch.\nAI-assisted development is part of our daily workflow. As implementation gets faster, we expect engineers to spend more of their judgment on what to build, why it matters and what we learn from it.\nWhat challenges you'll be solving\nOwn product initiatives end-to-end, from problem understanding to outcome validation.\n\nAct as Champion for initiatives: gather context, define hypotheses and success criteria, shape the work and drive it forward.\n\nWork directly with merchants, business stakeholders, Product Design and other engineering teams when needed.\n\nBuild and operate production software across backend and frontend.\n\nMake pragmatic product and technical decisions with incomplete information.\n\nUse data, feedback and experiments to decide whether to iterate, change direction or stop.\n\nContribute to evolving Merchant Portal into a platform other B2B teams can build on.\n\nUse AI throughout your workflow, including exploration, implementation, testing, debugging and learning unfamiliar systems.\n\nWhat to expect in the next 90 days\nMonth 1\nLearn the B2B domain, Merchant Portal, codebase and current initiatives. Shadow a Champion, meet key stakeholders and start contributing.\nMonth 2\nOwn a small initiative with support from the team, from understanding the problem to shipping it.\nMonth 3\nAct as Champion for an initiative: frame the problem, define the hypothesis and success criteria, ship a solution and check the outcome.\nWhat you’ll need\nMust have:\n7+ years of experience building production software.\n\nStrong software engineering fundamentals.\n\nExperience owning work beyond implementation.\n\nComfortable working across backend and frontend when needed.\n\nComfortable working with ambiguity and incomplete information.\n\nStrong product and customer curiosity.\n\nHigh autonomy, ownership and accountability.\n\nComfortable working directly with stakeholders and other teams.\n\nExperience using AI meaningfully in your software development workflow.\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills in English.\n\nNice to have:\nExperience with Ruby on Rails and/or React.\n\nStrong full-stack experience.\n\nExperience building platforms or capabilities used by other teams.\n\nExperience with product discovery, experimentation or success metrics.\n\nSpanish fluency.\n\nWhat we offer\nWe have a strong and sustainable foundation, where we provide a secure and reliable workplace.
