The project manager is responsible to manage resources, internal and external communication, schedule, and budget. The project manager works with owners and directs employees and consultants at all levels to ensure that proper steps and procedures are taken and that work is completed as planned, budgeted, scheduled and in conformance with the design intent and contract deliverables.\nDuties and Responsibilities\nPrimary\nAssist in supervising, coordinating, planning and reviewing the work of project teams on assigned tasks, under the direction of a PIC or Senior Project Manager. With mentorship, progress toward independently leading smaller, less complex projects.\nSupport the building of internal project teams with skills/interests suited to the needs of the project.\nHelp define project goals and objectives with the client and project team, with guidance from a PIC or Senior Project Manager; independently define goals and objectives for smaller projects as experience develops.\nAssist in the preparation of contracts and support contract negotiations.\nHelp prioritize goals, scope, and tasks to meet client needs, escalating conflicts to a PIC or Senior Project Manager as needed.\nSupport project staff planning and communicate staffing needs.\nAssist in developing and articulating project scope, fees, and proposals under supervision, progressing toward independently developing these for smaller projects.\nSupport negotiation of consultant scope, schedule, and fees.\nMay support selected marketing and business development opportunities.\nWork with the accounting department on routine project financials, including project set-up, invoicing support, and maintenance of accurate project data in accounting systems.\nContribute to team morale and a collaborative team environment, both internal and external.\nBegin to identify staff skills and areas of interest, providing input to the PIC and Studio Leader.\nWork with a PIC or Senior Project Manager to help carry out project goals through design, technical, and cost decisions.\nSupport project adherence to office standards for design, documentation, technical performance, Revit, and graphics.\nAssist in tracking changes in scope, schedule, and fee, escalating to a PIC or Senior Project Manager for resolution.\nDevelop understanding of project metrics such as utilization, technical standards adherence, efficiency improvement, and project profitability.\nAdditional\nMay participate in employee review process for team members in a supporting capacity.\nParticipate in updates to standards, processes, and project delivery at SERA.\nInterest and/or engagement in industry groups to begin developing specialized knowledge.\nSupport monitoring of construction administration during the construction phase.\nBegin developing positive relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and jurisdictional/approval agencies.\nModel the firm's values and core commitments, ensuring alignment with internal expectations for professionalism, collaboration, and ethical behavior.\nRespect and reinforce established firm policies and processes.\nOther duties as assigned.\nRequirements\nEducation and Experience\nRequires a Bachelor or Master’s degree from an accredited program.\nArchitectural License is preferred.\nGenerally requires 4-7 years of experience.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nDeveloping knowledge of accounting and project management software.\nPossesses knowledge of OSSC/ADAAG and the ability to apply code requirements with guidance.\nPossesses knowledge of drawing and production software, including its capabilities, requirements, and impact on project documentation strategy.\nAbility to communicate effectively through verbal, written, and graphic formats.\nAbility to prioritize and evaluate multiple tasks with support.\nDeveloping critical thinking, professional judgment, and decision-making skills to evaluate alternatives and identify solutions, seeking guidance from senior staff for complex or high-stakes decisions.\nDeveloping leadership skills to help motivate and guide teams and projects toward desired outcomes.\nDeveloping skills to help resolve conflicts within project teams, escalating as needed.\nDeveloping ability to support negotiation and advocacy with team members, consultants, clients, and jurisdictions for the benefit of SERA and the project.\nGrowing knowledge of design, construction systems, sustainability, project delivery methodologies, material application, and
