The role acts as the technical lead for instrumentation standards, and control panel design while ensuring compliance with GMP requirements and engineering best practices.\nThe Senior Controls & Calibration Technician partners with Engineering, Manufacturing, Facilities, Quality, Validation, and external integrators to develop scalable automation solutions that improve reliability, operational efficiency, and future manufacturing capacity.\nDuties & Responsibilities\nControls, Automation & Electrical Systems Leadership\nServes as the site technical lead for instrumentation, controls, and low-voltage electrical systems\nDevelops and maintains site instrumentation specifications\nEstablishes and drives the long-term control maintenance strategies for manufacturing, laboratories, utilities, and facility equipment\nReviews and approves control system instrumentation and control panel designs developed by equipment vendors, system integrators, and engineering firms\nPartners with engineering teams to ensure scalable and maintainable automation solutions are implemented across the site\nControl Panel Design & Electrical Systems\nLeads the review, and modification of control panels and low-voltage electrical systems supporting manufacturing and utility operations\nAssist in the development and review of the following implementations:\nControl panel layouts\nField instrument specifications Wiring diagrams\nElectrical schematics\nI/O schedules\nDevice and panel specifications\nSupports the construction, modification, testing, and commissioning of control panels\nPerforms troubleshooting and maintenance of low-voltage electrical systems up to 480VAC and associated control circuits\nCoordinates with licensed electricians, contractors, and engineering firms on electrical installations and upgrades\nEnsures compliance with applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and company engineering practices\nProvides technical oversight of field wiring, instrumentation installation, panel fabrication, and control system integration activities\nInstrumentation & Calibration Program Ownership\nOwns and continuously improves the site's calibration program\nDefines calibration methodologies, standards, frequencies, and criticality-based maintenance strategies\nServe as SME for:\nPressure instrumentation\nTemperature instrumentation\nFlow measurement systems\nHumidity and environmental sensors\nLoad cells and weighing systems\nProcess analytical instrumentation\nHVAC monitoring systems\nUtility instrumentation\nLeads troubleshooting and impact assessments for out-of-tolerance calibration events\nReviews and approves calibration procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation\nPLC, HMI & Automation Systems\nSupports field troubleshooting on PLC platforms such as:\nAllen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation\nSiemens\nIgnition\nFactoryTalk\nBuilding Management Systems\nEngineering & Capital Project Leadership\nActs as Controls and Instrumentation Lead on facility expansion and capital projects\nSupports project development from concept through commissioning and startup\nReviews and approves:\nP&IDs\nEquipment specifications\nInstrument data sheets\nPower requirements\nAutomation architecture\nFunctional design specifications\nParticipates in FATs, SATs, commissioning, qualification, and validation activities\nCoordinates contractors, system integrators, and equipment suppliers throughout project execution\nResponsibilities may increase in scope to align with applications: Process automation strategy, Equipment commissioning and startup, Reliability-centered maintenance, pharmaceutical utility systems, GMP manufacturing systems\nDemonstrated ability to collaborate and work in cross-functional teams\nAccepts feedback from a variety of sources and constructively manages conflict\nAbility to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate\nAbility to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment\nProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software\nEducation & Experience\nBachelor’s or technical degree in engineering, automation, or applicable mechanical discipline preferred\nRequires a minimum of 5 years’ experience within a federally regulated industry\nPreference given to candidates with the following:\nISA Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST)\nUL 508 Technician Certification\nCertified Calibration Technician (CCT)\nElectrical License or Limited Maintenance Electrician experience preferred\nExperience designing control panels and industrial automation systems\nExperience supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities and GMP environments\nExperience with capital project execution and commissioning\nFamiliarity with NFPA 70, NFPA 79, ISA standards, and GMP requirements\nPhysical Requirements\nProlonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer\nMust be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times\nAdheres to consistent and predicable in-person
