Instructors come to the stores for the rounds they need for weapon training and sign for them, and you record every movement accurately on the Management of Joint Deployed Inventory (MJDI) system. If you’re methodical, comfortable working to strict regulations and take pride in getting the detail right, we’d like to hear from you.\nAs part of this you’ll:\nMaintaining the ammunition account and ensuring compliance with storage regulations (JSP 482 - MOD Explosives Regulations)\nCoordinating the receipt, issue, control and accounting of all ammunition natures, applying approved accounting procedures\nRecording and maintaining ammunition account transactions on the Management of Joint Deployed Inventory (MJDI) system\nPreparing ammunition compound bays, and the natures held in them, for weekly (25%) stock-taking checks\nKeeping holdings free from bans and constraints, with inspection reports (fire, security, electrical, lightning protection) in date\nCollecting and returning ammunition and explosive natures to and from the Ammunition Depot\nProviding cover in the Clothing Stores when required\nWhat you’ll need to do the role:\nYou don’t need to arrive with every qualification, as full training is provided if you’re successful. What matters most is that you bring:\nEligibility for SC clearance, which usually requires five years’ continuous UK residency\nA full UK driving licence\nGood organisational skills, the ability to prioritise, and a flexible work ethic\nBasic MS Office skills, good communication skills and a customer-focused approach\nThe ability to work on your own as well as part of a team\nWillingness to complete the required training: MOD Ammunition Storeman course, MJDI and Authorised Rep (Road)\n\nDesirable\n\nExperience of the MJDI system, or of accounting for ammunition or other stores inventory\nMilitary stores experience, or experience of working in a military environment\nCurrent SC clearance\nExperience of ammunition accounting or MJDI would be a real advantage, but it’s not essential. If you’re organised, accurate and eligible for SC clearance, we want to talk to you. Ex-service candidates are very welcome.\nPlease note: there is no weekend work or on-call.
