We are innovators, committed to redesigning and improving public services to fulfil our purpose to impact a better future by \"Bringing National Visions to Life\".\nYour Opportunity\nWe are looking for an Assistant Technician -Outdoor Lighting to carryout preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance on outdoor lighting related systems and assets individually or as part of a technical team, within a designated area, whilst ensuring minimal disruption to the operations. Carry out all technical and safety instructions from staff, to conform to policy and procedures.\nKey accountabilities\nAbility to conform to all general and technical safety requirements at all times to ensure the health, safety & welfare of self and others at work\nAny other work as assigned by the electrical supervisor/duty engineer to achieve the purpose\nCan read interpret and describe the functionality of electrical drawings (circuit and wiring diagrams/schematic and layout drawings) irrespective of manufacturer\nCan correctly setup and use electrical test equipment and interpret the test results to include- Digital Multi meter\n- Low Resistance Ohmmeter\n- Insulation Resistance Tester\n- Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker Tester\n- Earth Fault Loop Resistance Tester\n\nKnowledge in the use & interpretation of Local and International Electrical Standards and Regulations\nSees those they interact with as customers and seeks to identify and meet needs, taking swift action to resolve issues with integrity. Always alert to the customer’s point of view and demonstrates a sense of urgency.\nSets clear team objectives and establishes courses of action for self and others to ensure that work is completed on time.\nEngages and influences others by using a wide range of communication methods and styles. Facilitates understanding and encourages communication both within own team and more broadly.\nFacilitates the implementation and acceptance of change and transformation within the workplace by guiding others and helping them adapt.\nSpecific requirements\nMinimum three (3) year experience in similar working environment. \nThis position requires a very good level of spoken and written English.\nAbility to communicate with staff, stakeholders and customers in oral and written English.\nWorking knowledge in MS Office (Word / Excel / Power point)\nAbility to perform safely and correctly the following on low voltage (LV) equipment and systems:- Electrical Isolations and LOTO\n- Planned preventative maintenance (PM) routines\n- Corrective maintenance (CM)\n- Breakdown maintenance (BD)\nto include\n- High mast lights\n- Low mast lights\n- Feeder Pillars\n- Main Distribution Panels and Boards\n- Final Distribution Boards and Final circuits\n- Electro-mechanical control panels and starters\n- Uninterruptible Power Supplies\n- Lighting Control Panels and circuits\n- All final circuit accessories and cabling\n- All distribution circuit accessories and cablings\n\nJoin Us\nAt Serco, we believe there is a place here for everyone.
