Our core capabilities span service design and advisory, customer experience, complex programme management, systems integration, and asset and facilities management, alongside environmental and case management services.\nGuided by our unique service model, we work together with clients and partners to achieve long-term visions and tackle some of the world’s most complex challenges.\nYour Opportunity\nThe main purpose of this appointment is to enable delegates to support in delivering firefighting and fire fighter leadership techniques training to candidates and other agencies/ groups through presentations, demonstration, and instruction in accordance with client requests and regulatory standards.\nThe post holder will be required to assist the instructors to assess the performance of candidates using a range of methods.\nMaintains ability to operate firefighting apparatus and equipment such as rescue tools, portable pumps, and Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus. Maintains knowledge of standards, regulations, and procedures pertaining to firefighting. Attends seminars, conferences, and lectures on current procedures, techniques, and technological advances in firefighting operations and equipment. Monitors and maintains assigned fire ground equipment and apparatus.\nKey Accountabilities\nAn ability to effectively deliver practical hands-on instruction, including the use of technology in the teaching of classes.\n\nAssist in delivering FRS training programmes to candidates and other agencies/ groups in an appropriate safe and effective manner.\n\nTo adequately resource the training events, including preparation and support on courses and conducting maintenance and cleaning in readiness for the next course/session.\n\nTo ensure all relevant and applicable testing/ servicing requirements are conducted according to Service policy.\n\nTo carry out risk assessments for training venues, accident investigations (where appropriate) and related activities to ensure the Health Safety and welfare of personnel\n\nParticipate in and support ongoing assessment, planning and evaluation to improve student learning.\n\nSupport the delivery of Fire and Rescue training programmes as required.\n\nAssess students’ performance against recognised standards using a range of methods in accordance with QMS procedures.\n\nAssist in developing course content in line with regulatory standards and best practise.\n\nCarry out all allocated tasks from the Senior Instructor in accordance with QMS procedures.\n\nTake responsibility for personal development in order to broaden the type and range of courses that can be delivered.\n\nProvide students/sponsors with follow up reports and action plans in the agreed format.\n\nMaintain equipment in accordance with recognised procedures.\n\nApply innovation and creativity to the methods of delivery to enhance the learning experience for students.\n\nTake a participatory role in development opportunities in all areas of the business.\n\nRepresent Serco Middle East IFTC at industry conferences, meetings and marketing events as required by the line manager.\n\nProvide feedback to line managers on matters of student performance, staff performance and health and safety.\n\nParticipate in staff appraisals in order to promote self-development to meet future business needs.\n\nReport shortfalls and non-conformities to line manager promptly and in the recognised format.\n\nMaintain health and fitness levels in order to undertake the role (in accordance with recognised guidelines).\n\nSpecific Requirements\n10 years Fire and Rescue experience with IFTC approved Aviation Firefighter and ICS Level 1 certification\n\nTechnical understanding of fire and rescue techniques including NOGBA and the Fire Service Manual Volume 4\n\nWilling to attain level 3 certification in Training and Assessing\n\nAbility to attain Breathing Apparatus and Compartment Fire Behaviour Training Instructor certification\n\nFluent in the English language (written and verbal)\n\nHold a current/ be able to obtain a class I Aviation Medical certificate\n\nValid UAE HGV driver’s licence\n\nIT - MS Office (Word and PowerPoint)\n\nJoin Us\nAt Serco, we believe there is a place here for everyone.
