You’ll work closely with Solutions Leads, Workstream Leads, subject matter experts and Bid Managers to turn complex information into clear, persuasive and compliant proposals.\nThis is an opportunity to bring your bid writing expertise into a collaborative, high-performing team, with exposure to complex and strategically important opportunities across Serco.\nWhat you’ll be doing\n\nTaking ownership of assigned written responses throughout the bid lifecycle, from storyboarding and drafting through to final submission.\nDeveloping compelling, customer-focused responses designed to maximise quality scores against evaluation criteria.\nAnalysing customer specifications, ITT documentation and instructions to identify key requirements and ensure responses are fully compliant.\nWorking closely with Solutions Leads, Workstream Leads and SMEs to gather information, challenge constructively and articulate Serco’s right to win.\nUnderstanding the customer’s perspective, including their requirements, challenges, opportunities and expectations around quality, deliverables and value for money.\nApplying Serco’s bid writing best practice and Playbook throughout the response development process.\nParticipating in robust review and peer-review processes to improve the quality and effectiveness of bid responses.\nMaintaining a strong understanding of proposal management and bid writing best practice.\nContributing to continuous improvement activity across Bid Writing, including case study development, Bid Library improvements and shared learning.\nWhat you’ll bring\n\nA demonstrable track record of successful bid writing and winning in competitive environments, ideally on bids valued at £1m+.\nExperience of working on complex sales opportunities and applying structured proposal management processes.\nPublic sector and/or outsourcing experience is desirable.\nExcellent written communication skills, with the ability to turn complex information into compelling, persuasive and customer-focused narratives.\nStrong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and communicate confidently and sensitively.\nThe ability to work independently, take ownership and operate effectively with limited supervision.\nStrong organisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.\nA growth mindset and enthusiasm for developing your own capability while contributing to the development of the wider Bid Writing community.\nWhy join us?\n\nAs a Bid Writer at Serco, you’ll be part of a specialist Growth function that plays a critical role in securing the opportunities that shape our future.
