Sereact is scaling internationally (Germany, US, Switzerland), and our Director Accounting is looking for a smart early hire to build our finance function together: processes, systems, and standards, from day one. You'll work directly with leadership and help take the group through its first statutory audit. Based on-site at our Stuttgart headquarters.\nWho We Are\nSereact builds AI that lets robots sense, reason, and act in the real world - in warehouses and factories. Our mission is to redefine how physical work gets done, and we're looking for curious, bold people who want to make a real difference.\nOverview\nWorking side by side with our Director Accounting, you'll help bring bookkeeping in-house, help shape our finance systems setup (including how we use Odoo alongside DATEV), and get us ready for our first statutory audit - working closely with the founders and our external tax and audit partners. We value people who work independently, take initiative, and build rather than wait for the perfect setup.\nYour Responsibilities\nDay-to-day accounting: Own the books (general and sub-ledgers) and gradually bring bookkeeping in-house from our external provider.\n\nPayments & working capital: Run accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the payment process.\n\nClosing & audit: Prepare monthly and quarterly closes under HGB and support the annual financial statements, including our first-ever statutory audit.\n\nSystems: Help shape our finance systems and decide the target setup - whether Odoo replaces DATEV or runs first as a subledger alongside it.\n\nPartners: Be the day-to-day counterpart to our tax advisors and auditors.\n\nProcess & automation: Build our finance processes and first automations hand in hand with our Director Accounting, including group-wide topics around our US and CH entities.\n\nQualifications\nA degree (business, finance, or a related field) is preferred - but above all we're looking for smart, analytical people who learn fast. Solid HGB fundamentals and hands-on DATEV (or comparable) experience matter more to us than a specific certificate.\n\nExperience with monthly and annual closes; IFRS knowledge is a plus.\n\nA hands-on, builder mindset - you like building from scratch and don't wait for finished processes or a team. No need for a perfect résumé.\n\nYou're comfortable with ambiguity and fast change and structure things yourself - pragmatic over perfectionist, but with a clear sense of when rigor matters (closing, audit).\n\nTool- and automation-savvy; you use modern tools and AI as a matter of course (Odoo or ERP experience is a plus).\n\nFluent German and good English.\n\nOur Interview Plan\nApplication: Apply via our careers page with your CV - a few lines on why this role interests you are welcome.\n\nTechnical fit interview, including a live case study (40 min): A deeper dive into your accounting know-how and problem-solving approach.
