We are on a mission to redefine how physical work gets done, and we're looking for curious, bold thinkers to help shape the future of robotics with us.\nOverview\nWe are looking for a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to design innovative systems and components for AI driven robots. In this role, you'll own designs from concept through fabrication: creating detailed 3D models and technical drawings, conducting mechanical simulations and performance testing to validate your work, and iterating hands on through prototyping and troubleshooting. You'll collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure seamless integration with electrical and software systems, coordinate with vendors and suppliers on fabrication and quality, and optimize designs for cost, efficiency, and manufacturability.\nYour Responsibilities\nDesign and Testing\nDesign mechanical systems and components for AI driven robots.\n\nConduct site visits to take measurements and gather requirements for finished designs.\n\nCreate detailed 3D models and technical drawings for fabrication.\n\nConduct mechanical simulations and performance testing to validate designs.\n\nBuild, test, and iterate on prototypes hands on, feeding lessons learned back into your designs.\n\nOptimize designs for cost, efficiency, and manufacturability.\n\nTranslate designs into clear fabrication and assembly documentation.\n\nCollaborate with engineering and operational teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical components with electrical and software systems.\n\nSource components and coordinate with external vendors, suppliers, and procurement on fabrication, quality, and lead times.\n\nWillingness to travel approximately 25%.\n\nQualifications\nEducation and Experience\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computational Mechanics, Engineering Science, or a related field.\n\n3+ years of experience in mechanical design, particularly in robotics or automation.\n\nExperience in industrial design or special purpose machinery is a plus.\n\nSkills\nProficiency with CAD tools like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, or similar.\n\nUnderstanding of mechanical testing and prototyping processes.\n\nStrong knowledge of material properties, manufacturing methods, and system integration.\n\nExperience with simulation and FEA tools is a plus.\n\nComfortable working hands on in a lab and shop environment.\n\nCompensation & Benefits\nBase salary range: USD $125,000 to $145,000 (actual pay based on skills, experience, and location)\nBenefits\nMedical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your dependents\n\n401(k) with 100% company match, up to 6%\n\n20 days paid time off\n\nParental leave\n\nPaid sick leave\n\nWellness or gym stipend\n\nLearning and development support\n\nEquity/Bonus\n\nAdditional Information\nEmployment may be contingent upon a background check consistent with applicable law.\n\nWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
