Responsibilities include general ledger transaction accounting, period-end close support, account reconciliations, variance analysis, preparation of financial and management reporting, and audit support. The role applies established accounting policy, procedures, and guidance to assigned areas.\nGeneral Ledger Accounting & Period Close\nRecord general ledger transactions in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policy, exercising judgment in the treatment of non-routine or ambiguous transactions.\nPerform period-end closing functions and complete the close process within established timelines and materiality limits.\nPrepare account reconciliations, researching and resolving discrepancies and outstanding items, and escalating.\nReporting & Analysis\nPrepare financial, management, and tax supporting schedules.\nPerform financial review and variance analysis to identify and explain drivers of unexpected results.\nEvaluate transactions and reporting outputs for accuracy and reasonableness, escalating anomalies to the Senior Accountant or Accounting Supervisor as appropriate.\nInternal Controls & Business Support\nEvaluate issues identified during review of transactions for internal control deficiencies and provide feedback to upstream control owners.\nCollaborate with operational teams to manage end-to-end workflow processes, following established procedures to ensure accurate and timely transaction recording.\nProvide support services to internal stakeholders, using independent judgment to research and resolve accounting questions within the scope of the role.\nAudits & Special Projects\nAssist with external and internal audits, including preparation of supporting documentation and responses to auditor inquiries.\nParticipate in special project reviews and process improvement initiatives.\nDemonstrate ownership of assigned responsibilities by proactively identifying and addressing issues, communicating appropriately, and escalating matters of significance where warranted.\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor's degree in Accounting.\nMinimum two years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger, period closing, and account reconciliation.\nCPA or CPA candidate a plus\nPreferred: diversified industry experience in retail, manufacturing, and/or automotive, or experience with a Big Four or national public accounting firm.\nStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles.\nStrong analytical, reconciliation, and financial problem-solving skills.\nAbility to analyze financial information, identify unusual or unexpected results, and recognize when an item should be researched further or escalated.\nStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines, priorities, and competing assignments.\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.\nOracle Financial Cloud and DealerTrack knowledge preferred.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nAbility to learn and use approved AI-enabled tools responsibly to improve efficiency, documentation, analysis, and communication.\nCompetencies:\nAI Powered: Understands and responsibly uses AI and digital tools to improve work, solve problems, and support better experiences for our guests, teams and business.\nAnalytical Rigor: Applies sound judgment to analyze information, identify unusual activity or trends, and draw meaningful conclusions.
