The Enterprise Accountant also supports internal controls, process documentation, cross-training, workflow improvements, technology enhancements, and special projects that support the goals of AFS.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nAccounting Operations & Business SupportProvide accounting support across General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Automotive Accounting, Credit, and other Accounting & Financial Services functions based on business priorities.\nPartner with internal stakeholders to understand operational activities, resolve accounting issues, and ensure accurate financial reporting.\nProvide professional accounting guidance and responsive support to business partners.\n\nAccounts Payable & Procure-to-PaySupport higher-level Accounts Payable activities, including review of complex transactions, period-end accruals, reconciliations, vendor-related accounting matters, and payment exceptions.\nEvaluate procure-to-pay processes and recommend improvements that strengthen accuracy, internal controls, and operational efficiency.\nCollaborate with Treasury, Operations, and Accounts Payable to resolve accounting, invoicing, and payment-related issues.\n\nSpecial Projects & Organizational SupportParticipate in cross-functional projects, strategic initiatives, accounting technology enhancements, automation efforts, reporting improvements, and approved AI-enabled solutions that support departmental and company objectives..\nContribute to cross-training, knowledge transfer, and organizational resiliency across Accounting & Financial Services.\nProvide flexible accounting support and backup coverage for designated accounting functions to maintain continuity during staffing transitions, business changes, and evolving operational priorities.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor's degree in Accounting.\nCPA preferred.\nCPA candidate or active pursuit of CPA certification encouraged.\nMinimum of two years of progressive accounting experience.\nPreferred: diversified industry experience in retail, manufacturing, automotive, and/or multi-entity organizations, or experience with a Big Four or national public accounting firm.\nPreferred: experience supporting automation, reporting enhancements, process improvements, or approved AI-enabled productivity initiatives.\nStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles.\nStrong analytical, reconciliation, and financial problem-solving skills.\nAbility to analyze financial and operational information, research accounting issues, and recommend practical solutions.\nUnderstanding of procure-to-pay accounting processes and related internal controls.\nStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines, priorities, and competing assignments.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.\nAbility to learn and use approved AI-enabled tools responsibly to improve efficiency, documentation, analysis, and communication.\nPreferred: experience with Oracle Financial Cloud and DealerTrack.\nCompetencies:\nAI Powered: Responsibly uses AI and digital tools to improve work quality, efficiency, documentation, analysis, and communication while maintaining appropriate human oversight, financial accuracy, privacy, and compliance.\nAnalytical Rigor: Uses financial and operational data to identify issues, evaluate alternatives, solve problems, and make informed accounting recommendations.
