The Apprentice works closely with the Evening Shift Supervisor and experienced technicians to develop practical automotive maintenance and repair skills while supporting the evening service shift. The role requires safe, quality-focused work, accurate repair-order documentation, disciplined completion of assigned work within the evening shift, and continuous development toward greater technical competency.\nWork schedule will be Monday-Friday, 6:30 PM-10:00 PM, approximately 17.5 hours per week.\nKEY OUTCOMES:\nComplete assigned work safely, accurately, and within the scheduled evening shift; work may not be carried over to the day shift without supervisor direction and an approved exception.\nPerform work only from valid repair orders (ROs) created by a Service Consultant before work begins.\nDocument work performed, findings, status, and any issue that affects completion, quality, or vehicle release.\nImmediately escalate work beyond approved light-duty scope, training level, or demonstrated competency to the Evening Shift Supervisor.\nComplete required quality-control checks and obtain required supervisory review on customer vehicles before release or handoff.\nDuring the initial training phase, perform maintenance work on pre-owned vehicles to build proficiency within the approved work scope.\nParticipate actively in training, coaching, and performance feedback to develop technical skills, efficiency, safety awareness, and professional work habits.\nMaintain workplace organization, proper tool/equipment handling, vehicle/key control, and a clean and safe work area.\nTechnical Work & Learning\nSupport and perform approved light-duty maintenance and repair work under direct supervision and in accordance with assigned training and demonstrated competency.\nLearn and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), manufacturer/service procedures, shop processes, and mentor/supervisor direction.\nUse tools, equipment, materials, and shop resources safely and responsibly; maintain proper care and condition of assigned equipment.\nParticipate in required training, coaching, hands-on demonstrations, and development activities.\nRepair Order, Documentation & Handoff\nVerify that a valid repair order is available before beginning customer or pre-owned vehicle work.\nRecord procedures performed, findings, parts or follow-up needs, incomplete items, and other required information accurately and on time.\nNotify the Evening Shift Supervisor as soon as an assigned job may not be completed within the shift or requires work beyond approved scope.\nLeave vehicles, keys, tools, parts, and documentation in the approved location and status for end-of-shift handoff.\nQuality, Safety & Customer Vehicle Care\nFollow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, equipment procedures, vehicle-lift practices, and facility rules.\nMaintain cleanliness and organization in the work area to support a safe, efficient, and professional environment.\nComplete required quality-control steps and obtain required review before a customer vehicle is released or moved to final handoff status.\nExercise care in handling customer and company vehicles and promptly report damage, safety concerns, equipment issues, or other exceptions.\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nHigh school graduate or equivalent.\nCurrently pursuing an Associate's degree in Automotive Technology.\nValid driver's license and clean driving record.\nStrong interest in the automotive technical field and willingness to learn new skills.\nBasic knowledge of tools and equipment used in automotive technical operations.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions from supervisors and mentors.\nReliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.\nCommitment to safety and adherence to safety guidelines and protocols.\nWork Experience:\nNo prior work experience required; some automotive experience preferred.\nBasic computer proficiency.\nBasic automotive repair and maintenance knowledge.\nAbility to follow repair orders, work instructions, SOPs, and supervisor direction.\nAt Servco, we’re committed to providing valuable mobility solutions to empower people through the freedom of movement and opportunity.
