We believe that the best way to solve complicated dynamic problems is collaboratively and respectfully.\nJOB OVERVIEW\nThe Service Technician I supports fleet reliability by performing preventive maintenance, structured diagnostics, and component-level repairs on Serve’s delivery robots. This role is designed for early-career technicians who bring foundational technical experience and are building proficiency within Serve’s systems and standards. Technician I operates with guidance on complex issues and is expected to develop toward independent troubleshooting capability.\nThis role directly impacts fleet uptime, repair quality, and customer experience through consistent execution and documentation discipline.\nJOB DUTIES\nPerform basic to moderate hardware repairs, component swaps, and preventive maintenance in accordance with established SOPs\n\nExecute structured diagnostic procedures using approved hardware and software tools\n\nConduct inspections and validation testing to confirm repair effectiveness\n\nPerform component-level replacements (motors, sensors, harnesses, mechanical assemblies, etc.)\n\nEscalate complex or recurring failures to higher-level technicians\n\nAccurately document all work in MaintainX, including detailed notes, photos, and supporting evidence\n\nEnsure repair documentation supports engineering review and traceability\n\nMaintain parts usage accuracy and support inventory tracking\n\nMaintain organized workstations, tools, and component storage areas\n\nFollow all safety procedures and proper tool-handling standards\n\nMeet defined quality and throughput expectations for assigned work\n\nIdentify repeat repair patterns and flag potential systemic concerns\n\nProvide feedback on process clarity and repair documentation standards\n\nParticipate in required technical and safety training\n\nEXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, & SKILLS\nRequired Experience, Qualifications, and Skills\n1-3+ years of hands-on technical experience in electro-mechanical, automotive, electronics, robotics, aerospace, or similar industries\n\nDemonstrated ability to perform mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting\n\nFamiliarity with standard diagnostic tools (multimeter, power supply, general shop tools)\n\nExperience working in shop, lab, or field-service environments\n\nStrong attention to detail and documentation accuracy\n\nAbility to follow structured troubleshooting processes\n\nFlexibility to work weekends as part of a 5-day schedule\n\nPreferred Experience, Qualifications, and Skills\nTrade school certification or technical training program completion\n\nExperience with issue-tracking systems such as Jira\n\nExposure to robotics, automation, or integrated mechanical-electrical systems\n\nSkills Scope & Decision Authority\nOperates independently on basic and moderate repairs Follows established troubleshooting frameworks\n\nEscalates complex diagnostics or systemic issues\n\nNo leadership or workflow coordination authority\n\nAdditional Information\nThis role requires regular hands-on work with robots, tools, and lab equipment.
