In this role, you will be responsible for leading the development, testing, and maintenance of scalable integration architectures using JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js. You will design robust REST APIs, webhooks, and event-driven AWS serverless workflows (including Lambda, SQS, and Step Functions) to seamlessly sync data with external accounting platforms. You will take full ownership of high-volume, event-driven serverless systems, leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate innovation, and mentor fellow engineers while tackling complex engineering challenges that directly impact the daily operations of thousands of commercial contractors. \nAbout You:\nYou are someone who takes full ownership of your work and thrives on delivering solutions. Your proactive, can-do attitude drives you to find answers, even in the face of complex technical challenges.\nKey Responsibilities and Activities:\nLead the development, testing, and maintenance of scalable codebase for complex accounting integrations and other products as necessary.\nProactively identify, diagnose, and resolve critical issues, implementing preventative measures to guarantee accuracy and reliability.\nCollaborate with and mentor junior engineers, fostering best practices in advanced software engineering principles and techniques.\nEstablish comprehensive documentation for code, and processes to enable seamless team collaboration and knowledge transfer.\nManage daily workload effectively between many priorities.\nKnowledge and Skills:\nLanguage Expertise: Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js; comfortable working within mixed modern and legacy codebases. Familiarity with Python for data-focused backend systems is a plus.\nAWS Ecosystem: Experience with AWS infrastructure, including Lambda, SQS/DLQs, S3, DynamoDB, Step Functions.\nSystem Design: Proficiency in designing robust Webhooks, REST APIs, OAuth/token flows, and handling retries/idempotency.\nData & Infrastructure: Experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB/DocumentDB.
