This pivotal role focuses on ensuring the efficient stewardship of data within our platform.\nThe Platform Persistence team is at the forefront of some of the most impactful projects, offering visibility to the executive leadership. As part of this team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our platform’s data architecture and ensuring that data is stored, retrieved, and managed efficiently.\nIn addition to traditional data management, this team will have a unique focus on telemetry and data visualization, making a substantial impact on how customer and platform data is utilized and presented.\nWhat you get to do in this role:\nWriting highly scalable code leveraging best practices on concurrency and memory utilization. \nContribute to data management strategies, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and security. \nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to implement data-related initiatives. \nExplore and experiment with challenging data problems including but not limited to data loss detection & recovery. \nChampion data best practices and security standards across the organization. \nMonitor and optimize data performance, troubleshooting and implementing improvements as needed. \nStay current with the latest data storage and management technologies, including distributed storage systems (S3, Apache Iceberg) and Kubernetes-based deployments. \nUse AI tools to help solve challenging data and distributed systems problems at scale, applying sound judgment on guardrails and process for AI-led software development. \nFosters a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.\n To Be Successful in this role you have:\n8+ years of software development experience with a Bachelor's degree; OR 5+ years with Master's degree; OR 3+ years with a PhD; OR equivalent work experience.\nProficiency in Java programming and strong expertise in data structures and algorithms. \nProficiency with concurrency and parallel programming concepts. \nWorking knowledge of databases, data modeling, and data storage technologies. \nStrong relational database experience to handle large amount of data on relational systems. \nDeep knowledge of Kubernetes and hands-on experience with Kubernetes service deployment is a strong plus. \nWorking knowledge of distributed storage systems such as S3 and Apache Iceberg. \nStrong understanding of cloud-based and distributed systems. \nFamiliarity with ServiceNow platform is a plus. \nExcellent problem-solving and communication skills. \nWorking knowledge of JavaScript is beneficial for cross-functional collaboration. \nExperience with AI-assisted development tools and awareness of related guardrails/process is a plus. \nFor positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $176,100 - $308,200, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
