This includes but is not limited to: floor care (mopping, sweeping, buffing, stripping and waxing), cleaning bathrooms, emptying trash, separating recyclables, emptying garbage, wiping windows and walls, and cleaning stairways.\nCarry out minor repairs and building maintenance throughout assigned areas of the facility.\nResponsible for exterior snow and ice removal as well as upkeep of the grounds. This includes but is not limited to sidewalk maintenance, maintaining landscaping, and all other aspects of the building exterior.\nAssist Staff with special events by setting the chairs and tables up for use making sure the area is clean and safe for all\nMaintain building maintenance tools and machinery to ensure that all items are in good working condition.\nIf Program does not have a superintendent, Responsible for ordering cleaning supplies, paper supplies, lightbulbs, garbage bags, etc. and maintaining biweekly inventory.\nAssist in moving and storing program supplies, office furniture, office equipment, dorm furniture, consumer belongings, and other items in and around the facility when and where appropriate.\nComply with all SUS Employee Policies, Procedures and Protocols SUS Cooperate Compliance Policies\nWilling to assist when EMERGENCIES arise in the Facility\nMust wear SUS maintenance uniform and must maintain uniform so that it is clean and presentable at the start of each shift.\nComplete other tasks assigned by Director or Superintendent\nAttend staff meetings, group supervision, and trainings as needed. \nAssist with apartment turn over following move outs to prepare apartments for new families, this includes plastering, sanding walls and painting; transporting resident and property to new apartment/unit.\nAssist Super with the maintenance of the building\nQualifications\nAt least one year of maintenance & cleaning experience in a large residential or Program setting.\nMust possess good interpersonal skills.\nMinimum one year experience working with mentally ill individuals within a residential or scatter-site program.\n\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:\nHigh School Diploma or GED preferred.\nBilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred.\nBeneficial for candidate to have experience working within a Supportive Housing setting.\nHS Diploma or GED required.\nMinimum one year experience as a repair-person.\nValid NY State Driver’s License.\nAir conditioner installation, lock and cylinder changes, smoke detector installation, etc.\nCompany Overview\nS:US IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER\nJoin a team of employees who care about the wellbeing of others.
