For the majority of direct labor positions, ServiceSource will obtain documentation of a significant disability as per the JWOD Act.\nJob Summary\nThe Janitor cleans and keeps in an orderly condition factory working areas and washrooms, or premises of an office, commercial or other establishment. Duties involve a combination of the following: Sweeping, mopping or scrubbing, and polishing floors; removing chips, trash, and other refuse; dusting equipment, furniture, or fixtures; polishing metal fixtures or trimmings; providing supplies and minor maintenance services; and cleaning lavatories, showers, and restrooms.\nPrimary Duties\nReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review.\nMaintain building interior by dusting and polishing furniture, equipment, mirrors, and fixtures; washing windows, counters, walls, ceilings, and woodwork; sweeping, scrubbing, and waxing floors; cleaning and vacuuming drapes, furniture, and carpeting including carpet scrubbing; resupplying rest rooms; replacing light bulbs.\nMaintain building accessibility and appearance by picking up papers and trash; replacing light bulbs.\nRemove trash by emptying trash containers; transporting materials to disposal area; collecting recycling materials.\nKeep cleaning equipment operational by following manufacturer's operating and care guidelines; completing operator repairs and parts replacement.\nMaintain parts and equipment inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed parts; anticipating cleaning equipment replacement; placing orders.\nAdditional Responsibilities\nMaintain safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.\nContribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.\nPerform other job related responsibilities as assigned. \nQualifications: Education, Experience, and Certification(s)\nHigh school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) preferred.\nAt least one (1) year custodial experience preferred.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nAbility to understand and follow direction.\nKnowledge of various cleaning products and when to use them.\nMust have good oral/verbal communication skills.\nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The incumbent is frequently required use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects tools or controls. The incumbent must spend the entire time at work standing, walking, swooping, kneeling, lifting heavy objects, operating medium-weight cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, sweeping and mopping floors and moving desks and furniture. The incumbent is required to do a great deal of stretching and bending, often in awkward positions.\nNote: Operating floor polishers and waxers are particularly hard on back muscles.\nThe incumbent must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.\nWork Environment\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
