DESCRIPTION SUMMARY\nThe Electronics Manufacturing Technician performs assembly, rework, and inspection activities across PCB assemblies (PCBA) and electrical harnesses used in satellite and ground systems operating in high-reliability, mission-critical environments.\nThe role supports the full electronics manufacturing lifecycle, ensuring compliance with IPC standards, ESD controls, and aerospace-grade quality and traceability requirements.\nPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS\nPCBA Manufacturing\nOperate SMT production equipment including solder paste printers, pick-and-place machines, and reflow ovens\nSupport SMT line setup, changeovers, and basic process control\nPerform SMT and through-hole assembly\nConduct manual soldering and component replacement\nSupport functional testing and basic electrical verification\nRework and Repair\nPerform soldering and rework activities including fine-pitch components\nSupport PCB repair and modification activities in line with IPC-7711/7721\nAssist with basic debugging and failure investigation\nHarness Manufacturing\nAssemble cable harnesses including crimping, soldering, and connector installation\nRoute wiring according to build documentation and schematics\nWork in accordance with IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards (preferred)\nInspection & Quality\nPerform visual inspection of PCB and harness assemblies according to IPC standards\nIdentify defects and report non-conformances\nVerify wiring configurations and connector pin assignments\nRecord inspection results where applicable\nSupport root cause identification of manufacturing defects\nManufacturing Support\nSupport engineering teams during testing, troubleshooting, and build activities\nContribute to prototype builds and low-volume production\nFollow strict ESD, cleanliness, and controlled process requirements\nCleaning & Coating\nPerform PCB cleaning according to defined procedures\nSupport conformal coating processes\nEnsure cleanliness requirements for high-reliability assemblies are met\nDocumentation & Traceability\nRecord manufacturing activities in MES/ERP systems\nMaintain accurate and complete traceability records\nFollow controlled work instructions and manufacturing documentation\nQUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES\nQualifications & Experience\nEducation / Training\nTechnical education in electronics, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or similar\nOR equivalent hands-on experience in electronics manufacturing\nExperience\n2-5+ years of hands-on experience in electronics manufacturing\nExperience with PCB assembly, SMT processes, or electronics repair\nExperience working in production or lab environments\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with SMT equipment and PCBA manufacturing processes\nExperience in harness assembly\nKnowledge of IPC standards (IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/7721, IPC/WHMA-A-620)\nExperience in aerospace or high-reliability electronics manufacturing\nExperience working in ESD-controlled environments\nNice to Have\nExperience in cleanroom environments\nFamiliarity with ECSS / ESA standards\nExperience with manufacturing documentation systems or travelers\nKey Competencies\nStrong attention to detail and workmanship quality\nDiscipline in following controlled manufacturing processes\nQuality-focused mindset in high-reliability environments\nAbility to work with detailed technical documentation\nGood teamwork and collaboration skills\nOTHER KEY REQUIREMENTS / COMMENTS\nEligibility for ESA/EU/NATO/National SECRET personnel security clearances is essential.
