S/he will lead and/or interact with cross departmental teams to support design, implementation and smooth handover of satellite ground systems for the next generation satellite networks in MEO and GEO (e.g. SDS, mPOWER, and MeoSphere) which shall be implemented and operated for SES considering all aspects of systems, services, procedures and any other constraints. S/he therefore shall have outstanding experience as pragmatic system support engineer in the Radio Frequency & Satellite Communications domain.\nPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES\nPerform 24x7 Level-4 technical support for satellite ground systems to peers/customers in- and outside the company as an established expert in the satellite and terrestrial ground engineering field and act as a trusted representative of the team and the company\nPerform system handover from Service Engineering team to SES operation team including:Deliver necessary training on ground system to SES operation/Customer.\nPrepare and deliver As-built system documentation.\nActive follow-up and closer of pending action item/ ground system deliverables.\n\nAd-hoc basis support Ground System Integration team for in house integration of ground station components and subsystems including antennas, High Power Amplifiers (HPAs), switch matrix, up/down converters, modulators, inter-facility connection equipment and Co-lo space under the guideline of engineering team\nAd-hoc basis support Ground System Integration team for in house integration of measurement, communications and monitoring and control systems (including Service IOT and M&C Systems) under the guideline of engineering department.\nPerform in house system upgrades for existing ground systems to bring them to latest technology level that SES needs to fulfil their mission on a global basis\nPerform Configuration and testing of ground station equipment and software. \nPerform remote configuration, management and troubleshooting of GW Infrastructure.\nPerform periodic calibration of ground systems as per the guideline of engineering team.\nPerform and participate in ground system integration and test and operational validation of the ground segment, including generation of test plans and procedures and participation in system acceptance testing, ground readiness tests and network readiness tests\nCOMPETENCIES\nAbility to coordinate with various business requirements and various stakeholders\nEfficient analytical skills, coordination & priority setting facility, problem solving, project & time management, critical task decision making, as well as the ability to provide practical conclusions\nDemonstrated high self-starter qualities and a high motivation to deliver projects efficiently and autonomously, without direct supervision\nInnovative mind, ability to identify and implement change and solve problems\nGood communication and presentation skills, proactive approach towards internal and external customers\nDemonstrated ability to work in a culturally diverse organization\nAware of and can evaluate relevant technological developments, market trends, competitive factors, standardization, licensing and regulatory aspects.\nQUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE\nA recognized Electrical/Telecommunications Engineering degree (BS/MS or similar) with a knowledge of RF and telecom theory\n1 to 4 years of “hands-on” engineering experience in satellite ground systems and worked successfully as Development or Systems Engineer and as Project Manager\nExperience in RF measurement techniques, test and verification of ground stations,\nand expertise in auxiliary systems like Network (IP, switching, routing), Monitoring and Control systems, power, HVAC and civil engineering\nProven experience with tools like Word, Excel, Excel VBA, Powerpoint, MS Project, Visio, AutoCad, Lotus Notes, Windows and Linux\nFluency in written and oral English.\nOTHER KEY REQUIREMENTS / COMMENTS\nAbility and willingness to travel internationally from time to time.\n\nSES and its Affiliated Companies are committed to providing fair and equal employment opportunities to all.
