This includes performance of financial analysis, application of IFRS and local regulations, and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations and with SES’s policies and procedures.\nThe incumbent has thorough understanding of Accounting Standards, has a good understanding of the processes feeding into the General Ledger accounting, and generally has at least five years’ experience in the role, or a directly similar role at another employer.\nPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS\nCompleteness and documentation of financial records\nEnsure manual journal entries are properly recorded, with appropriate supporting documentation\nReconcile balance sheet accounts ensuring high-accuracy financial reporting\nIdentify, calculate, and record accrued expenses for services rendered but not yet invoiced\nAs an entity controller, ensure accuracy of the general ledgers, including areas prepared by other departments (e.g. fixed assets transactions, revenue recognition, income taxes, etc.)\nCompliance of the financial records with SOX and SES policies and procedures\nRespect strict closing deadlines, to allow timely consolidation of SES’s results\nEnsure intercompany transactions are properly recorded and reconciled\nMaintain internal controls over financial reporting to meet SOX requirements\nFulfilment of regulatory obligations associated with each entity\nPrepare annual statutory financial statements and any other tax filings or other reporting obligations\nEnsure compliance with applicable Accounting Standards and transfer pricing policies\nFinancial analysis over Group results\nPrepare monthly review of companies’ results, including analysis of variances to prior and budget\nOversight over external accounting service providers (if required)\nReview monthly reports from external providers, ensuring accuracy, including correct use of SES’s standard chart of accounts and cost centres\nMaintain reconciliation between IFRS consolidation ledger and local ledger (in SAP), as well as between local ledger (in SAP) and local ledger (in external provider’s system)\nCOMPETENCIES\nExcellent analytical skills and detail-focused\nThorough understanding of Accounting Standards (IFRS)\nContinuous improvement mindset\nAbility to plan own time carefully and to prioritise with limited supervision\nAbility to communicate clearly and effectively in an international business environment\nQUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE\nBachelor’s Degree in Accounting or directly relevant professional qualification\nAdvanced professional qualification (such as ACCA) preferred\nProficiency in SAP\nPrevious experience working in a SOX-compliant environment preferred\nMore than five years operational experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing company\nOTHER KEY REQUIREMENTS / COMMENTS\nFluency in English, both oral and written.
