This project is the European Union's answer to the pressing challenges of tomorrow to provide secure connectivity services and enhanced communication capacities to the EU and its Member States as well as to governmental users, private companies and European citizens while ensuring high-speed internet broadband to cope with connectivity dead zones. SES - together with other consortium partners and core members - was selected by European Commission to build and to operate the IRIS2 multi-orbit satellite constellation. The IRIS2 team enters into its next project phase and there is a strong need of finance support for all the activities around the Integrated Project Team set up for IRIS by SES.\nROLE DESCRIPTION\nIn your analyst role, you are working as part of the SES IRIS2 Finance Team and are responsible for planning and managing the reporting and analysis activities for the SES IRIS2 Programme. The role has specific responsibility for providing financial transparency to SES IRIS2 Programme leader, SES Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and includes reporting to external parties such as grantors and consortium partners. You are responsible for the preparation of Forecast, Budget and Business Plan of the SES scope and you are a contributor to the month end closing process. You are contributing to the internal management reporting, SES BoD reporting and for SES external results publication.\nYou will work in an agile project organization where a flexible way of working and an adaptive mindset is required.\nAs a Senior Financial Analyst, IRIS2, you will be responsible to :\nProvide support to SES Finance, Sales, P&I Departments as well as on programme level to SES IRIS2 Finance team on all financial reporting matters for SES IRIS2\nDevelop key metrics to measure the financial performance of SES IRIS2 project and operations\nConduct in-depth analysis and reporting of variance to plan across all project levels, providing the responsible parties with objective advice on variance drivers and possible mitigation strategies. This reporting is contributing to the SLT Business Reports, SES BoD reporting packages and SLT Financial Performance Review, Consortium reporting packages, Programme leader reporting and management reporting packages for grantor \nResponsible for establishing forecasts, budget and business plans based on baseline costing and revenue planning performed in collaboration with the SES IRIS Programme and Finance team\nSupport IRIS Finance team on commercial proposals related to IRIS \nProvide support and guidance to Financial Operations & Controlling to ensure accurateness of financial figures for complete Programme \nKey contributor to the internal process to deliver the planning documents for the Consortium ICSB and SES SLT and Board meetings \nProvide ad-hoc analysis on specific areas\nDevelop and drive automation of reporting within the Programme\nCOMPETENCIES\nAbility to work independently and with limited supervision in complex environments, e.g. project or matrix organizations\nFlexibility and adaptability in response to changing project requirements and environments\nProblem-solving and decision-making abilities\nEffective communication skills, both written and verbal\nAble to understand Finance Strategy, to define FP&A objectives accordingly and drive implementation\nProactively identifies need for change, implements accordingly and assumes responsibility as required\nStrong team player, able to energise and motivate peers \nDevelops relationships with internal and external customer, understands their needs and delivers accordingly\nUses in-depth knowledge and expertise (e.g. FP&A, ERP/BI, EXCEL, PowerBI) \nAptitude to communicate complex FP&A matters at the appropriate level of granularity depending on audience and objectives of the meeting or report\nCommercial and business acumen\nQUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE\nUniversity degree with finance qualification and background, MBA, CA or equivalent preferred\nTechnically competent from a financial perspective (chartered accountant or equivalent)\nAt least 5 years’ experience in a similar financial role\nDemonstrable knowledge and expertise in use and development of finance IT tools\nProven experience of meeting tight deadlines and track record in project management\nFront-end experience of being involved in finance support\nUnderstanding of full flow of finance cycles\nFluency in English (written and spoken), another European language considered an asset\nOTHER KEY REQUIREMENTS / COMMENTS\nEligibility for ESA/EU SECRET personnel security clearances is essential.
