With this vision, we're designing a new kind of computer, focused on making voice agents part of our daily lives. Our team brings together founders from Oculus and Ubiquity6, alongside proven leaders from Meta, Google, and Apple, with deep expertise spanning hardware and software. Join us in shaping a future where computers truly come alive.\nAbout the Role\nSesame is integrating a complex sensing and computing system into a compact wearable that has to be light, comfortable and attractive, and available in many styles and colors. The Product Design TPM owns the program plan for the mechanical side of that product: enclosures and cosmetic parts, materials and finishes, mechanisms, packaging and accessories. You will carry hundreds of mechanical parts through design release, tooling, validation and factory builds, working with our Product Design, Industrial Design, Manufacturing and Operations teams and with our contract manufacturers and tooling and materials suppliers.\nThe ideal candidate has a mechanical or product design engineering background, has run part release and tooling for a consumer product through EVT, DVT and PVT, and knows how to keep design change under control when the schedule is tight and the design is still moving. You are comfortable telling a designer or an executive what a change will cost in weeks and dollars, and then building the plan that makes it happen.\nWe are a small team working on very ambitious projects. In a fast-paced startup, everyone must be comfortable, collaborative, decisive, and able to achieve results with limited supervision.\nResponsibilities:\nOwn the Product Design program schedule from concept through EVT, DVT and PVT, including part release, tooling kickoff, first-shots, validation and phase exit criteria.\n\nRun the PD release and change-control process: every part has a release date, an owner and a status in our PLM tool.\n\nProgram-manage styles, colors and materials: cosmetic material qualification, color development, SKU rollout planning.\n\nCoordinate design validation and reliability testing for mechanical parts, and own closure of design-review action items.\n\nManage tooling, materials, cosmetic-part and packaging suppliers: quotes, POs, sample requests, tooling timelines and delivery schedules.\n\nPlan mechanical materials and build matrices for prototype builds, and lead mechanical build readiness across factory sites.\n\nRun failure analysis triage for mechanical and cosmetic issues: every issue has an owner, a due date and a path to closure.\n\nMaintain the Product Design section of the program's master issues list and weekly status, aligned with area leads.\n\nTravel to contract manufacturer and supplier sites for builds, tooling reviews and validation as needed.\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.\n\n5+ years of experience in hardware program management or mechanical/product design engineering of consumer electronics, with at least 2 years managing programs.\n\nHands-on experience releasing mechanical parts and taking them through tooling and prototype builds (EVT/DVT/PVT or equivalent).\n\nWorking knowledge of high-volume manufacturing processes (injection molding, machining, stamping, cosmetic finishing) and tolerance, DFM and validation practices.\n\nDirect experience managing tooling, materials or fabrication suppliers, including quotes, POs, samples and schedules.\n\nExperience running change control and part release in a PLM tool.\n\nStrong written communication; able to run a program with clear plans, decision logs and status updates.\n\nAbility to travel internationally, up to 25%.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with wearables or other products with heavy industrial design and cosmetic constraints.\n\nExperience with premium cosmetic materials and finishes and their supply chains.\n\nExperience managing many SKUs, colors or configurations through a single program.\n\nExperience with packaging or accessories programs.\n\nExperience working with contract manufacturers.\n\nExperience with Linear, Arena or similar issue and PLM tools.\n\nStartup experience, or ownership of new product programs at a large company.\n\nSesame is committed to a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered. We welcome all qualified applicants, embracing diversity in race, gender, identity, orientation, ability, and more. We provide reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities. Contact  for assistance.\nFull-time Employee Benefits:\n401 (k) max employer match: 3.5% of compensation\n\n100% employer-paid health, vision, and dental benefits for you and your dependents\n\nUnlimited PTO and sick time\n\nFlexible spending account with employer matching up to $1,650/year (medical FSA)\n\nGuardian Employee Assistance Program (EAP)\n\nOpportunity to share in the company's success with competitive stock options\n\nBenefits do not apply to contingent/contract workers.","description_format":"text","description_chars":5105,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":5,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Stock options","Unlimited PTO"],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":[],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-03T06:31:47Z"}],"visa":[{"country":"US","licensed_sponsor":true,"evidence":"H-1B filings in 12 months: 7","filings_12m":7,"filings_prev_12m":0,"green_card_filings_12m":0,"median_offered_wage_usd":162500,"route":null,"cap_exempt":false,"checked_at":"2026-10-03T21:08:04+00:00","sources":["US Department of Labor: LCA disclosure data (H-1B, H-1B1, E-3)"],"filings_for_role_12m":0}],"liveness":{"score":86,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.86,"p_room":1,"age_days":7,"expected_fill_days":83,"reasons":["conf:0","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-10T05:45:15Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":250000,"is_top_pay":true},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/sesame-ai-technical-program-manager-product-design","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/sesame-ai-technical-program-manager-product-design.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-11T03:07:16Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":503,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":4497,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-12T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":48220},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=48220"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fsesame-ai-technical-program-manager-product-design"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fsesame-ai-technical-program-manager-product-design"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fsesame-ai-technical-program-manager-product-design"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/sesame-ai-technical-program-manager-product-design\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fsesame-ai-technical-program-manager-product-design"}]}
