Join us and help build the next generation of cloud services and automation for SQL and NoSQL open-source databases - on-premises or in the cloud.\nPosition overview\nSeveralnines is looking for a seasoned QA engineer to lead the test architecture for our on-premise flagship product, and who isn't afraid to get hands-on. We want someone who enjoys designing test scenarios and building the most efficient test matrix to raise the product's quality to the next level - someone who believes QA's scope goes well beyond writing E2E tests in the Web UI, and is just as comfortable validating behavior at the API, service, and backend level. This role requires programming skills to directly contribute to and extend our automated testing infrastructure. You must be comfortable using Bash and Python. We'd love to see you share our interest in databases.\nResponsibilities\nSet technical direction for testing the backend of our on-premise product\nDesign, develop, and execute automation scripts using open source tools\nEstimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities\nCreate detailed, well-structured test plans and test cases\nIdentify, record, and track bugs\nEvaluate the UI/UX of new features with the same rigor as backend behavior - catching usability issues and inconsistencies, not just functional defects\nWork closely with developers throughout feature development, giving early, clear feedback to shape the implementation rather than only validating it at the end\nStay up to date with new testing tools and strategies\nWhat we're looking for\n5+ years of proven experience in software quality assurance\nStrong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes\nSolid hands-on experience in test automation and scripting with Python\nLinux background (administration, Bash)\nSolid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases\nExperience writing clear, detailed, well-structured test plans and test cases\nExperience with virtualization and/or containerization platforms (e.g. Incus/LXC, libvirt/virsh, VMware, VirtualBox)\nGreat attention to detail on UI and user experience -
