Streamline Control is seeking an Enterprise SCADA Specialist to join our Modern SCADA practice and support the delivery of Enterprise SCADA (formerly OASyS) solutions to pipeline and utility clients across western Canada. This is an early-career role suited to someone who has foundational SCADA, controls, or software exposure and is ready to build deep specialisation in Enterprise SCADA under the guidance of senior team members.

You will contribute to system configuration, HMI development, and integration work on live client engagements from day one, supported by a structured technical pathway that develops you toward Intermediate and Senior Specialist responsibilities. This role sits alongside our Ignition SCADA practice, giving you exposure to both traditional enterprise and modern IIoT-based SCADA architectures over the course of your career at Streamline.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Enterprise SCADA Configuration and Development

• Support the configuration and testing of Enterprise SCADA (formerly OASyS) systems for client projects under the direction of Senior Specialists.
• Assist in the development of displays, dashboards, and HMI graphics within Enterprise SCADA, following client style guides and modern HMI design principles.
• Contribute to point database configuration, tag mapping, alarm configuration, and historical data setup for client SCADA environments.
• Participate in system testing, defect tracking, and issue resolution during FAT, SAT, and go-live activities.

MQTT and Edge Computing

• Support the configuration of MQTT-based data flows and edge computing components integrated with Enterprise SCADA environments.
• Assist with the deployment and monitoring of edge devices, cellular modems, and industrial radios in field and remote locations.
• Help troubleshoot data delivery, store-and-forward behaviour, and broker connectivity issues under senior guidance.

Industrial Protocols and PLC Integration

• Work with industrial protocols including Modbus, OPC UA, DNP3, and EtherNet/IP under senior direction, supporting device connections to PLCs and RTUs.
• Assist with tag mapping and data flow validation between PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider) and Enterprise SCADA.
• Coordinate with controls engineers and field technicians on address verification and integration testing.

Client Project Delivery

• Contribute to project deliverables including configuration documentation, test procedures, and as-built records under senior review.
• Participate in client design workshops, requirements gathering sessions, and technical reviews as you develop client-facing skills.
• Support project coordination activities - scope tracking, status updates, and change management - under the guidance of the Practice Lead or assigned Project Manager.
• Participate in commissioning, site acceptance testing, and go-live support, including travel to client control centres and pipeline facilities.

Systems, Infrastructure and Cybersecurity

• Support the deployment and maintenance of Enterprise SCADA servers on Windows environments, including SQL Server database components.
• Work within virtualised environments (Hyper-V, VMware ESXi) and Active Directory-integrated infrastructure supporting client SCADA deployments.
• Follow established OT cybersecurity practices including network segmentation, hardening standards, and access management aligned with IEC 62443 and client policies.

Ongoing Client Support

• Provide ongoing support of client Enterprise SCADA systems under managed service agreements, contributing to Tier 1 and Tier 2 activities with senior escalation.
• Assist with incident investigation, log review, and root cause analysis under senior guidance.
• Maintain accurate documentation of client environments, configurations, and support activities.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Prior exposure to AVEVA Enterprise SCADA (OASyS), Ignition, or another enterprise SCADA platform through work experience, internship, co-op, or self-directed study.
• 1-4 years of relevant experience with SCADA, IIoT, industrial control systems, or closely related technical work (internship and co-op experience considered).
• Foundational understanding of SCADA architectures, HMI concepts, and industrial data flows from PLCs and RTUs into SCADA environments.
• Awareness of industrial communications and protocols such as Modbus, OPC, and MQTT.
• Working proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (Python, C#, VB, or Java).
• Familiarity with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL) - basic queries and schema navigation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to document configurations clearly and present findings to internal and client audiences.
• Willingness to travel to client control centres and pipeline facilities across western Canada, and to work at active industrial sites.
• Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to learn new SCADA platforms, programming languages, and technologies quickly.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience developing user interfaces or HMI graphics on any SCADA platform.
• Familiarity with industrial communication equipment - cellular modems, industrial radios, edge devices.
• Exposure to MQTT and Sparkplug B in industrial contexts.
• Hands-on PLC exposure (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider) through coursework or work experience.
• Familiarity with IT infrastructure components - Active Directory, Hyper-V, VMware, or Azure.
• Exposure to Agile ways of working.
• Awareness of OT cybersecurity frameworks (IEC 62443, NIST 800-82) with working knowledge of the Purdue model.
• Familiarity with pipeline operations, control centre environments, or the Canadian regulatory context (CSA Z662).

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Hybrid working from the Calgary office with travel to client control rooms, pipeline facilities, and field sites across western Canada.
• Work at active industrial and pipeline facilities requiring adherence to client safety management systems, PPE requirements, and permit-to-work procedures.
• Occasional on-call availability and after-hours work during commissioning, cutovers, and go-live windows as responsibilities develop.
• Flexibility during testing campaigns, FAT/SAT events, and project delivery milestones.
