Also to assist in the implementation and maintenance of a Quality Management System.\nAttend to all aspects of operational matters related to the work in progress \nEnsure adherence to International Standards \nEnsure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures \nEnsure adherence to the Company Code of Ethics \nEnsure adherence to the Quality Management System \nCheck staffing across the trade sites is sufficient and timesheets are correct.\nLiaison with clients and/or direct superior regarding progress and/or non-conformance \nEnsure maintenance of work files in conjunction with divisional admin department \nEnsure prompt and accurate certification of jobs completed \nCo-ordinate the daily operational deployment and activities of commercial inspectors in conjunction with the branch manager \nAssist in the training, coaching and counseling of full-time employees, sub-contractors and part time employees in conjunction with the branch manager to ensure continuity of competencies to underpin the growth strategies \nEnsure that all SGS equipment is respected and maintained in good working order \nAdhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system \nPerform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by direct line manager\nSpecific Authorities\nCease the use of any equipment that may be deemed to constitute a safety hazard or enter hazardous environment without the necessary knowledge and protection and report the situation to higher authority to action \nCease to carry on with work that may affect the quality (integrity) of services and report the situations to higher authority to take action \nInitiate a formal improvement request when a deviation of the system occurs, possible improvements are identified or when nonconformity is identified \nCoordinate quality across Trade sites in Saldanha Bay, PE and JHB. \nPlan staff in JHB and allocate resources as needed\nClient complaints show a declining trend year-on- year \nReports need to be handed in correctly with all correct data on it. \nNumber of credit notes issued need to be minimized. \nSafety issues raised at the various sites \n QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE\nMinimum qualification - Matric\nTertiary qualification and chemical testing/sampling - will be an added advantage \nMinimum 5-10 years relevant experience within the industry\nMinimum 3 years supervisory experience in inspection, sampling, sample preparation, mining, minerals, trade, logistics or a related operational environment.\nCommunication skills\nSampling procedure knowledge of minerals \nLanguages: Proficiency in English (Read, Write, Speak) \nAny other languages an added advantage \nValid driver’s license \nComputer literacy (Minimum Word and Excel) \nCOMPLIANCE & AUTHORITY\nCompliant with all SGS QOH&S and HR policies and procedures\nGranted sufficient authority to achieve the given responsibilities as per relevant SGS Authority policies\nResponsible for the daily safety and health of employees on behalf of SGS upper management and for raising issues with SGS upper management where required\nKeep up to date on SGS inspection policies and procedures.
