Our Elko, NV laboratory is looking for an entry-level Technician to join their Field Services team! The Field Services Technician's primary responsibilities are to perform field analyses, sample pickup, and collecting environmental samples. The Field Services Technician is expected to follow all health and safety protocols and document all sampling activity as outlined in the company standard operating procedures. This position is required to commute to/from client sites to collect samples, pickup samples, and to deliver them to the laboratory. The Field Services Technician is expected to demonstrate safe defensive driving behavior and maintain a satisfactory driving record.

Job functions:

  • Collect soil, water, and wastewater samples from client sites in accordance with federal, state, and company guidelines.
  • Travel to mine sites for sample pickup multiple times a week.
  • Coordinate sample drop-offs with Reno laboratory
  • Schedules collection services and travels to client sites using company vehicle.
  • Performs analyses in the field in accordance with standard operating procedures; transports sampling equipment from location to location
  • Documents all field sampling activities in a detailed manner
  • Delivers collected samples back to laboratory
  • Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external clients
  • Completes all required training to perform responsibilities in compliance with regulatory guidelines
  • Assists Sample Management Department
  • Must be comfortable performing all tasks in inclement weather and temperatures
  • Performs courier routes for sample pickup from different client sites
  • Preps client bottle kits
  • Packages and ships samples and bottle kits
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Must be MSHA certified or gain certification by Dec 2025 (Required)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • 1 year of relevant experience (Required)
  • Experience in an environmental laboratory (Preferred)
  • Advanced English language skills (Required)
  • Strong customer service skills (Required)
  • Ability to lift/carry/push and/or pull upwards of 50 lbs on a constant basis (Required)
