We are accredited by NATA and ISO 9001, ensuring our services meet both Australian and international standards.\n SGS is seeking a dedicated Graduate Chemist to join our Natural Recourses - Geochem team primarily based in Perth.\nThis role offers the opportunity to participate in a structured training program (Perth based, regional and FIFO locations) within the Natural Resources - Geochemistry division. The program includes a complete rotation across the Geochemistry division including sample prep, fire assay, weigh room, acid digest, XRF analysis and ICP analysis and a placement at a mine site.\nResponsibilities include, however are not limited to:\nPerform analyses in accordance with established procedures to ensure analytical integrity and quality.\nActively participate in a structured program to develop relevant skills and knowledge.\nOperate laboratory equipment and instrumentation safely according to authorized work instructions.\nComply with, and assist in maintaining, the laboratory’s Quality Management System.\nOn occasions, may be required to relocate or provide temporary cover to other sites.\nWork to improve operating efficiency of equipment and instrumentation and analytical quality data.\nEnsure samples submitted to section are analyzed promptly, accurately, and precisely.\nDevelop skills to achieve unsupervised operator status (working automatously) on equipment including troubleshooting skills and keeping equipment and section in good state of repair.\nPerform all functions in correct numerical order, adhering to QC requirements and avoiding potential contamination.\n The ideal candidate will have the following:\nTertiary qualifications in Chemistry or related discipline.\nUnderstanding of and experience with Geochemistry related processes and methods.\nPhysically fit due to required tasks and responsibilities in each rotation.\nMeet site access requirements (ie: training, induction and medical requirements)\n WHY WORK FOR SGS?\nWorking at SGS means joining an innovative, Global company.
