From exploration to trade, SGS helps clients boost efficiency, stay compliant, and reduce risk-backed by cutting-edge labs, digital tools, and a global network.\nJob Title: Laboratory Analyst \n Hours: Annualised hours contract, 48 hours per week- rotating shift pattern, including nights and weekends (expected to be working up to 37.5 hours per week)\nJob Location: Avonmouth \nSalary: £31,724.16 - £33,000\n Industry: Oil and Gas\n As a Chemist within our busy Avonmouth laboratory, you'll carry out a range of analytical tests on petroleum, fuel and related products, ensuring accurate results that help our customers make critical operational decisions.\nThis is an excellent opportunity for someone with laboratory experience who enjoys hands-on testing, problem-solving and working in a fast-paced environment.\nWhat you'll be doing\nPerforming routine and specialised laboratory testing on oil, fuel and gas-related samples.\nInterpreting and validating analytical results in line with industry standards and quality requirements.\nOperating, calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment.\nRecording and reporting test data accurately and efficiently.\nWorking closely with colleagues to ensure samples are processed within agreed turnaround times.\nMaintaining high standards of laboratory safety, quality and housekeeping.\n What we're looking for\nDegree or HNC/HND in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent laboratory experience.\nPrevious experience in a laboratory environment.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate results.\nAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced testing environment.\nGood communication and organisational skills.\nExperience within oil & gas, fuels, petrochemicals, environmental or UKAS/ISO 17025 laboratories would be advantageous but is not essential.\n At SGS, we believe in rewarding our employees for their hard work and commitment.
