Lead a high-performing team and drive the growth of regulatory services across the South Island with SGS-a global leader in inspection, testing, and certification. SGS operates a network of over 2,500 laboratories and business facilities across 115 countries, supported by a team of over 100,000 dedicated professionals.

Based in Christchurch, you will lead and grow SGS’s Regulatory business across the South Island. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will drive performance, develop your team, and ensure operational excellence.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and developing high-performing team of Engineer Surveyors
  • Driving a culture of safety, teamwork, and customer satisfaction
  • Managing day-to-day operations, including scheduling, job delivery, timesheets, and invoicing
  • Owning the P&L and improving business performance and efficiency
  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities across the region
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Experience within the engineering, regulatory, or Industrial services sector
  • Proven leadership experience, ideally managing technical teams
  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Commercial acumen, including understanding of financial performance (P&L)
  • Sound knowledge of statutory, regulatory, and safety requirements
  • A Mechanical Engineering degree (preferred)
  • Relevant CBIP qualifications would be an advantage
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
