Well Test Operator

As part of our field operations team, you will deliver high-quality testing and inspection services while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer service. This hands-on role involves fieldwork, technical reporting, equipment management, and supporting the development of others within the team. You'll play an important role in ensuring projects are completed safely, accurately, and professionally.

What you'll be doing:

Safety & Compliance

• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure safe work practices at all times.
• Follow SGS policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Take responsibility for personal development and professional conduct.

Operations

• Deliver field-based testing and inspection activities in line with project requirements.
• Ensure all equipment is available, maintained, calibrated, and ready for use.
• Collect, record, and report accurate data and results.
• Support customer enquiries and provide technical assistance when required.
• Assist with training, mentoring, and competency development of team members.
• Communicate project updates and operational changes to supervisors.
• Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and operational reviews.
• Develop and maintain the skills required to work in remote and offshore environments.

Administration & Reporting

• Complete accurate reports and documentation using SGS systems.
• Ensure job records and final reports are submitted on time.
• Contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement activities.
• Participate in training and development programmes.
• Support proactive problem-solving and decision-making across the team.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

• Minimum 2 years' experience in oilfield well site services, well testing, offshore operations, or early production systems.
• Strong hands-on experience across well testing and production operations.
• Previous experience leading or supervising small teams in a field-based environment.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and electronic reporting systems.
• A current Senior First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and delivering exceptional service in demanding operational environments.
