The office space has been recently renovated to feature new lab spaces and additional office spaces to accommodate our continued growth. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Environmental Scientist or Engineer to showcase and grow their experience!\nResponsibilities:\nComprehensive environmental consulting and/or engineering that includes planning, data assessment, reporting, travel and field work, and/or sample collection. \nPerform Phase I, II, & III Environmental Site Assessments. \nAssist with review, evaluation, and interpretation of environmental data and prepare summary reports. \nInteract and communicate with clients, vendors, and staff at all levels in a professional manner. \nFollow Shannon & Wilson’s Quality Assurance policy. \nFollow and promote Shannon & Wilson’s Health & Safety and Loss Prevention policies and procedures. \nPerform other duties as assigned by your supervisor. \nRequirements\nBachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, Civil or Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or other Natural Science; Master's Degree preferred. \n7 to 14 years of experience \nExcellent writing, organizational, and communication skills. \nPersonable, flexible, and professional demeanor. \nThe ability to work independently with minimal supervision. \nThe willingness and ability to travel to support the needs of other Shannon & Wilson offices. \nA valid driver license and insurable driving record. \nBasic computer skills: MS Word, Excel (required); MS Access (desirable). \nCritical thinking and analysis. \nFrequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying 30+ pounds. \nWorking in all weather conditions, on uneven terrain. \nThe ability to travel (drive or fly) to field sites per project needs and job sites locally and out of state. \nThe ability to get a pass for access to military facilities. \nOther desirable skills and training based on previous experience:\n40-hour HAZWOPER training \nKnowledge of RCRA, CERCLA, OSHA and other federal regulations. \nExperience sampling soil, groundwater, and other media at contaminated sites. \nExperience in hazardous waste and hazardous materials management. \nExperience with environmental remediation technologies. \nExperience on federal projects (HTRW, TERC, AFCEE, etc.) \nAdvanced computer skills: Excel, ArcGIS, AutoCAD. \nExperience with statistical analyses. \nLevel Placement:\nTypically, depending on an applicant’s education, experience, overall abilities, alignment with the needs of the company and local office culture, and the current business needs, a Mid-Level Environmental Engineer typically would be placed at a Shannon & Wilson Senior Professional I, II, or III level.\nShannon & Wilson is committed to providing a comprehensive total rewards package that includes the following benefits:\nEmployee stock ownership \nMedical, prescription, vision, dental, long-term care and life insurance plans are offered to employees (and their families). \nPre-tax health and daycare FSA \nProfit sharing and 401(k) plans with annual safe-harbor contributions \n10 -
