The office space has been recently renovated to feature new lab spaces and additional office spaces to accommodate our continued growth. This is an excellent opportunity for students and recent graduates looking to apply their classroom experience to real-world examples!\nResponsibilities:\nPerform construction observation. \nAssist with field explorations and collection of samples.\nAssist with geotechnical laboratory tests.\nAssist with report preparation.\nPerform geological or engineering analyses and calculations.\nInteract and communicate with clients, vendors, and staff at all levels.\nFollow Shannon & Wilson’s Quality Assurance policy.\nFollow and promote Shannon and Wilson’s Health and Safety and Loss Prevention policies.\nPerform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.\nRequirements\nAt a minimum, completed Junior year of undergraduate coursework working towards a degree in Geology or Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Geotechnical.\n0 to 3 years of experience\nCoursework and/or working backgrounds in one or more of the following areas: soil mechanics and foundation engineering, slope stability, and engineering geology.\nField/construction observation experience a plus in one or more of the following areas: logging geotechnical explorations, observation of pile driving operations, observations of earthwork activities, installation and recording of geotechnical instrumentation, field reconnaissance, and/or underground work.\nExcellent writing, organizational, and communication skills. \nPersonable, flexible, and professional demeanor. \nThe ability to work with the appropriate level of supervision. \nA valid driver license and insurable driving record. \nBasic computer skills: MS Word, Excel (required);
