This role is responsible for driving excellence in Safety, Quality, Housekeeping, Production, and Associate Relations. As a key on-shift leader, you will ensure operations run to specification, support a culture of safety, develop associates through training and coaching, and maintain consistent communication across shifts and departments. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a 24/7 operation, excels at problem-solving, and is committed to delivering high-quality results while building a strong and engaged team.\nThis position is based in Chatsworth, GA.\nResponsibilities:\nLead your shift of 15-20 associates\nMust comply with all required Shaw Accident Free Environment (SAFE), and plant specific safety rules and regulations.\nKnow and adhere to general plant and job specific Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).\nPromote daily stretching activities.\nLead First Day Back and Safety/Quality meetings to share plant information.\nResponsible for quality on shift and works with associates to assure quality performance.\nEnsure that operation is operating to spec, including line speed, moisture, width, length, and carpet exit temperature.\nCoordinate quality control testing and processing of trial materials on shift as directed.\nUnderstand how to perform weight checks, delamination tests, and tuft bind tests.\nCommunicate off quality to Finishing Department Manager.\nIdentify training deficits and training opportunities for the department.\nResponsible for completing Shaw Quality System (SQS) training for associates.\nCoordinate associate efforts in Compounding and Re-inspection.\nCommunicate information from Dept/Personnel manager as needed to associates.\nWork with other Supervisors to coordinate shift coverage during associates’ absence due to vacation, FMLA, or other absenteeism occurrence.\nResponsible for coaching and holding associates accountable.\nIdentify maintenance opportunities and complete work orders.\nMust be able to work overtime and weekends as needed (arrive at least 30 minutes before and stay after to complete needed tasks).\nManage associate Kronos for the shift daily.\nComplete daily reports related to Quality, Production and Safety.\nLead investigations related to Safety, Off Quality or other as needed.\nUnderstand the operation of the Tufting and Dyeing Departments, and of Finishing processing as it relates to carpet manufacturing and deliveries to the Finishing Department.\nReports to the Finishing Department Manager.\nAttend required training or meetings as needed.\nRequirements:\nHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent.\n3+ years of Leadership experience\nAvailability to work extended schedule based on business needs\nPreferred:\nPrevious Finishing/Coating/In-line coating Experience.\nPrevious Manufacturing Experience.\nKnowledge of Google applications, mainframe (G-Link), Shop Flex, Ez-Entry, Line-up Manager, Contract Manufacturing, Kronos, and TMS3.\nLeadership Competencies:\nPlan and Organize\nCoach and Support \nBuild a Successful Team\nDemonstrates Good Judgment\nShaw benefits include:\nMedical, dental, vision insurance\nLife insurance and disability coverage\nTuition reimbursement\nEmployee assistance program\nHealth savings account\nPaid Time Off\nParental Leave\n401K and Retirement Plans\nProduct discounts for employees\nGym membership discounts\nAdoption assistance\nShaw Family Health Center (Dalton, GA, and Cartersville, GA, locations)\nAnd much more\nShaw Industries Group, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, and is a global leader in delivering carpet, hardwood, tile & stone, laminate, synthetic turf, and other specialty products to residential and commercial markets worldwide.
