The Risk Manager CRT provides the administrative, systems and MI backbone for the effective ongoing management of a loan portfolio. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate portfolio data and operating portfolio management systems. The role requires adherence to operational procedures and company values, promoting integrity and consistency in all activities. The role is not client-facing and does not carry direct relationship-management responsibility; it exists to enable Construction Risk Directors to focus on client engagement band site visits by ensuring the underlying administration, data and reporting are accurate, current and complete.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Administration

  • Administer the in-life activities of a loan portfolio (drawdown processing, document filing, data capture).
  • Maintain and update portfolio management systems and trackers, ensuring data accuracy and completeness at all times.
  • Prepare and quality-check documentation packs in support of drawdowns.
  • Own the portfolio's data hygiene - resolving discrepancies, closing data gaps, and ensuring system records reconcile to source documentation.

Systems & MI

  • Operate and maintain portfolio management and reporting systems, acting as first point of contact for system queries and access issues within the team.
  • Produce regular MI and reporting packs (portfolio trends, site visit schedules) as required.
  • Build and maintain templates, trackers and standard reports to drive consistency and efficiency across the team.
  • Escalate system issues, data quality problems or process breaks to the appropriate stakeholders and support their resolution.

Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures in all administrative and data-management activities.
  • Identify potential risks surfaced through data and MI monitoring (e.g. missed covenants, approaching expiries, incomplete documentation) and escalate promptly.
  • Support a forward-looking approach to risk management by ensuring monitoring data and deadlines are tracked and visible ahead of time.
  • Internal Stakeholder Support
  • Provide administrative and reporting support to Construction Risk Directors, Credit and NPL teams on underperforming loans, without direct client contact.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to drive efficiencies, standardise processes and raise data and reporting standards across the team.
  • Respond to internal requests for portfolio data and status updates accurately and within agreed timeframes

Skills & Experience

Portfolio Administration & Systems

  • Proficient in administering a comprehensive portfolio of loans, including data entry, tracking and reporting.
  • Strong working knowledge of portfolio management, document management and reporting systems.
  • Competent in collating key information and preparing documentation in support of loan restructures, including basic loan modelling.

Data & Reporting

  • Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail in data management and reconciliation.
  • Able to produce clear, accurate MI and reporting packs to tight deadlines.

Operational Excellence

  • Ability to manage personal time and workload across multiple systems and deadlines.
  • Highly organised, process-driven, and comfortable owning administrative accuracy at scale.

Education/Professional Qualifications

Shawbrook is committed to providing opportunities to all candidates and understands that not all candidates may possess a qualification or education aligned to the role. We will assess each candidate on their individual experience and skills, and not solely on level of education.

Key attributes

Communication Skills

  • Clear and effective communicator in writing, particularly in MI, reporting and internal correspondence.
