We are seeking a commercially driven Business Developer with business-fluent German to establish our presence in Germany before expanding into Austria and Switzerland.\nThis is a hunter role with a second, equally important dimension: building the supply side. You will both close new enterprise accounts directly, and identify, court and sign the large portfolio holders, housing associations, municipalities, facility managers with hundreds or thousands of buildings, who become the delivery backbone for our sponsor-funded stewardship projects. Both halves of the mandate matter equally.\nLocation\nGermany-based (central/eastern Germany preferred). Fully remote-compatible. Regular travel within DACH, occasional travel to Brussels HQ.\nPriority market\nGermany first. Austria and Switzerland as expansion phase once Germany traction is established.\nTasks\nKey Responsibilities\nDemand side\nDevelop and execute a go-to-market strategy for Germany first, expanding into Austria and Switzerland.\nIdentify, qualify and close new enterprise accounts through direct outreach, events, and referrals.\nLead commercial negotiations, structure deals that meet client needs and Shayp's growth objectives\nSupply side\nSource, qualify and build senior relationships with large public-building portfolio holders (housing associations, municipalities, facility management companies) willing to enroll their portfolios in sponsor-funded water stewardship programs.\nOwn these relationships end to end, from first contact to signed partnership to handoff for deployment.\nRepresent Shayp at industry events and trade fairs across DACH, travel expected regularly.\nShared\nBuild and manage a robust pipeline in HubSpot, with accurate forecasting.\nCollaborate closely with the CEO, Operations, Head of Sales, Head of Corporate Partnerships to align messaging, targets and deal economics.\nContribute to pricing, localisation and go-to-market materials for the German-speaking markets\nRequirements\nMust-haves\nGerman at C1/C2 level, written and spoken.\nProven track record building credibility and closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals with senior decision-makers, ideally including large asset owners, public institutions or infrastructure operators.\nComfortable owning both a direct sales motion and a longer-cycle partnership-building motion in parallel.\nStrong working English; French a plus.\nA true swiss-knife: autonomous, resourceful, energised by building something from zero in a scale-up environment.\nNice-to-haves\nExisting network among housing associations, municipalities, facility management or utility decision-makers in Germany.\nExperience selling to real estate, infrastructure or sustainability-focused verticals.\nFamiliarity with IoT, smart building or ESG/CSRD reporting.\nExperience at a Series A/B scale-u\nProfile we have in mind: mid-career, high energy, genuinely autonomous: someone who thrives without a playbook and builds one instead.\nBenefits\nWhat We Offer\nA mission-driven company solving one of Europe's most pressing infrastructure challenges - water resilience.\nCompetitive base salary + performance bonus tied to your revenue targets.\nDirect access to and collaboration with the founding team.\nFlexibility to work remotely with regular in-person collaboration in Brussels.\nA culture that values impact, excellence, autonomy, and continuous learning.\nWe’re passionate about our people and our culture.
