We are seeking an enthusiastic and industry-experienced Automotive Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across our Automotive provision.\nThis is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing learners' technical skills, industry knowledge and career aspirations within a modern and supportive learning environment.\nAbout the Role\nAs an Automotive Lecturer, you will deliver engaging and innovative lessons across a range of automotive programmes, supporting learners to achieve their qualifications and progress into employment or further study. You will contribute to curriculum development, maintain high standards of teaching and learning, and provide excellent academic and pastoral support to students.\nYou may also act as a Course Leader, taking responsibility for course planning, quality assurance, assessment processes and learner outcomes.\nWeoffer great benefits including;\nGenerous annual leave \nEnhanced employer pension contribution \nRegular training and development \nDuties\nDeliver outstanding teaching, learning and assessment in Automotive subjects.\nPrepare and deliver engaging classroom and workshop-based lessons.\nAssess learner progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.\nSupport students through personal tutoring and pastoral care.\nDevelop schemes of work, lesson plans and learning resources.\nMonitor learner attendance, progress and achievement.\nMaintain accurate records in line with college and awarding body requirements.\nContribute to curriculum planning, quality improvement and self-assessment activities.\nBuild and maintain strong links with employers and industry partners.\nSupport recruitment activities including open events, school liaison and careers events.\nOrganise and monitor work placements and industry engagement opportunities.\nParticipate fully in continuous professional development and industry updating activities.\nAbout You\nWe are looking for an individual who combines strong automotive industry expertise with a passion for supporting learners to achieve their potential.\nEssential Requirements\nGCSE Grade 4/C or equivalent in English and Maths.\nLevel 3 or Level 4 qualification in Automotive Maintenance and Repair or a related automotive discipline.\nSignificant current or recent automotive industry experience.\nPrevious teaching experience, training experience, or experience supporting apprentices in the workplace.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to engage and motivate learners from diverse backgrounds.\nStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.\nGood working knowledge of IT systems and digital learning technologies.\nCommitment to achieving a Level 5 Teaching Qualification if not already held.\nDesirable Requirements\nRelevant degree or higher-level professional qualification.\nLevel 5 Teaching Qualification.\nAssessor qualification (TAQA/A1 or equivalent).\nInternal Quality Assurance qualification (IQA/V1 or equivalent).\nExperience of curriculum design and quality improvement within Further Education.\nExperience acting as a Course Leader or programme coordinator.\nWhat We're Looking For\nWe are particularly interested in candidates who are:\nPassionate about education and skills development.\nInclusive, supportive and committed to learner success.\nInnovative in their approach to teaching and learning.\nCollaborative and able to work effectively with colleagues and employers.\nCommitted to maintaining up-to-date industry knowledge and professional standards.\nAbout Us\nThe South Hampshire College Group (SHCG) is a dynamic, purpose driven Further Education organisation with a commitment to Creating Better Futures for learners, employers and communities within South Hampshire and beyond.\nWe pride ourselves on living our values - Collaborative, Inclusive and Aspirational.
