The role will ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with established financial policies and procedures.\nResponsibilities\n1. Financial Reporting and Month-End Closing\nPrepare monthly financial performance reports for the plant and explain variances against budget.\nAllocate departmental profit and loss (P&L) reports and share them with relevant departmental heads.\nPrepare plant cost performance reports and analyse key cost components.\nReview general ledger (GL) postings to ensure costs are allocated to the correct cost centres.\n2. Budgeting, Cost Control and Product Profitability\nAnalyse budgeted versus actual plant expenditure and provide explanations for variances.\nInitiate reclassification journals for incorrectly captured costs.\nPrepare weekly product margin reports to support business decision-making.\nPrepare weekly sales and margin performance snapshots against budget.\nSupport cost-saving initiatives and follow up on internal audit findings.\n3. Creditors and Supplier Management\nEnsure supplier deliveries and invoices are properly documented and recorded.\nFollow up on supplier payment requests and remittances.\nResolve supplier payment queries in collaboration with relevant internal teams.\nEscalate urgent payment requests for appropriate action.\n4. Accruals and General Ledger Management\nAnalyse plant general ledger postings and identify unrecorded expenses.\nPrepare accrual journals for approval and ensure timely posting and reversal in the financial system.\nRequest budget allocations for cost centres with budget deficits, where necessary.\n5. Fixed Assets Management\nCreate and maintain fixed asset records, including cost centre and location allocations.\nEnsure proper tagging and regular updating of the fixed asset register.\nReview capital expenditure purchase requisitions and ensure accurate recording of acquired assets.\nCoordinate the disposal of fully depreciated, obsolete, or damaged assets.\n6. Petty Cash Management\nProcess approved petty cash requests.\nPerform weekly and monthly petty cash reconciliations against the general ledger.\nRequest reimbursements for site-related expenditure from the relevant finance office.\n7.
