The successful candidate will be responsible for optimising equipment performance, minimising downtime, managing maintenance costs, and ensuring compliance with safety, food safety, and statutory requirements.\nThe role will also drive continuous improvement initiatives, develop maintenance teams, and ensure the effective implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance programmes.\nResponsibilities\n1. Maintenance Planning and Equipment Reliability\nDevelop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programmes to improve equipment reliability and minimise maintenance costs.\nLead root cause analysis of equipment failures and performance losses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.\nTroubleshoot and resolve equipment breakdowns promptly to minimise downtime and prevent recurrence.\nProvide technical guidance on equipment maintenance, modifications, upgrades, and procurement requirements.\nMaintain accurate maintenance records and documentation to support planning, performance monitoring, and decision-making.\nSupport and develop autonomous maintenance teams to enhance equipment ownership and operational efficiency.\n2. Project Planning and Implementation\nIdentify capital expenditure (CAPEX) and major repair and maintenance projects in collaboration with plant leadership and other departments.\nPlan, coordinate, and manage engineering projects to ensure delivery within approved budgets, timelines, and quality standards.\nReview and interpret engineering drawings for equipment installations, fabrication, and modification projects.\nMonitor the availability of critical machine spares and coordinate timely replenishment.\nEvaluate equipment performance and recommend appropriate maintenance, replacement, or modification strategies.\n3. Compliance, Inspections and Statutory Requirements\nEnsure timely completion of statutory inspections for machinery, boilers, fire safety equipment, lifting equipment, and other relevant plant utilities.\nEnsure maintenance activities and engineering projects comply with applicable statutory, regulatory, and internal requirements.\nCoordinate inspections, audits, and maintenance services to maintain operational compliance.\nEnsure timely closure of audit findings and implementation of corrective actions.\n4. Food Safety and Quality Assurance\nEnsure maintenance processes comply with applicable Food Safety Management System (FSMS) requirements, including ISO 22000:2018 where applicable.\nUphold Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) during maintenance activities.\nEnsure maintenance-related food safety and biosecurity issues are addressed promptly.\nSupport food safety audits and ensure timely closure of maintenance-related findings.\n5. Safety, Health and Environment\nPromote a safe working environment for maintenance employees, contractors, and other plant personnel.\nInvestigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, ensuring corrective and preventive measures are implemented.\nIdentify and eliminate workplace hazards and unsafe practices within maintenance operations.\nEnsure compliance with safety procedures and environmental requirements during maintenance and project activities.\nDrive timely closure of Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) audit findings.\n6. Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence\nLead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving equipment reliability, productivity, and maintenance efficiency.\nPromote employee participation in idea generation, innovation, and implementation of improvement projects.\nImplement effective daily work management and standard work practices within the maintenance function.\nMonitor maintenance performance and identify opportunities to reduce waste, downtime, and operating costs.\nFoster a culture of accountability, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.\n7.
