Accounting firm with offices in Durban, Pietermaritzburg and Johannesburg, is seeking a driven and experienced Audit Supervisor to join their growing Audit & Assurance team.\nThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced audit professional who has completed their articles and is ready to take greater ownership of audit engagements, lead audit teams and build strong client relationships.\nThe successful candidate will play an integral role in planning, supervising and executing audit assignments, ensuring technical accuracy, quality assurance and the timely delivery of audit engagements within agreed budgets and deadlines.\nDuties & Responsibilities\nKey Responsibilities\n\nPlan, coordinate and execute external audit engagements in accordance with applicable auditing standards and firm methodology.\n\nSupervise audit teams, allocate responsibilities and monitor engagement progress.\n\nReview audit working papers to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with quality standards.\n\nPrepare and review audit findings, management reports and recommendations.\n\nMonitor audit engagements against agreed budgets, timelines and deliverables.\n\nLiaise directly with clients and maintain strong professional relationships.\n\nAddress audit queries and communicate findings and recommendations to management.\n\nProvide technical guidance, coaching and support to junior and trainee auditors.\n\nMonitor the performance, productivity and development of audit team members.\n\nEnsure audit files are properly documented, reviewed and finalised.\n\nParticipate in audit planning, opening and closing meetings, as well as client presentations.\n\nEnsure compliance with relevant professional standards, legislation and internal audit methodologies.\n\nMinimum Requirements\n\nBCom Accounting, BCompt or a relevant Accounting/Auditing qualification.\n\nCompleted SAICA articles or equivalent professional training.\n\n3–5 years' relevant external audit experience.\n\nPrevious supervisory or team leadership experience will be advantageous.\n\nStrong technical knowledge of auditing standards and financial reporting principles.\n\nProven experience reviewing audit working papers and supervising audit staff.\n\nProficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.\n\nPractical experience using CaseWare.\n\nExcellent report-writing, analytical and communication skills.\n\nAbility to manage multiple engagements, work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.\n\nValid driver's licence and willingness to travel when required.\n\nAdvantageous Professional Qualifications\n\nCertificate in the Theory of Accounting (CTA).\n\nInitial Test of Competence (ITC).\n\nKey Competencies\n\nStrong technical auditing and analytical capabilities.\n\nEffective leadership and team management skills.\n\nExcellent attention to detail and quality control.\n\nAbility to take ownership and accountability for audit engagements.\n\nStrong client relationship and stakeholder management skills.\n\nExcellent planning, organisational and time-management abilities.\n\nA proactive,
