You’ll be instrumental in delivering analytics-driven solutions, developing predictive models and supporting data science products that enhance decision-making across the business.\nWith respect, integrity and honesty, responsibilities include:\nDevelop, deploy and maintain data science-based products that support Shell Energy’s strategic objectives and business performance.\nDesign and implement advanced analytics and machine learning models to solve complex business problems, including customer churn prediction, load behaviour analysis, forecasting, demand response analysis and energy optimisation.\nWork closely with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into practical, data-driven solutions.\nApply DevOps principles to support the ongoing operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of data science products and services.\nParticipate in product support activities, including troubleshooting and remediation of technical issues to maintain service quality and reliability.\nCollaborate with data engineers, analysts and broader technology teams to ensure effective delivery of scalable and robust analytics solutions.\nMonitor, evaluate and improve the performance of models and analytical solutions, ensuring outputs remain accurate and fit for purpose.\nContribute to the development of best practices, standards and processes that support data science capability across the organisation.\nCommunicate insights and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, supporting informed business decision-making.\nHere’s what you’ll need to thrive in this role:\nTertiary qualification in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.\nDemonstrated experience developing and deploying data science, machine learning and advanced analytics solutions in a commercial environment.\nExcellent programming skills in relevant data science technologies and tools, with experience working across the end-to-end model development lifecycle.\nExperience applying statistical analysis, predictive modelling and machine learning techniques to solve complex business problems.\nKnowledge of forecasting, optimisation and behavioural analytics methodologies, ideally within energy, utilities or related industries.\nExperience working within DevOps environments and supporting products through ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement activities.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.\nExcellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.\nA commitment to continuous learning, innovation and delivery of high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.\nExperience in the energy industry, including electricity markets, customer analytics or energy optimisation, would be advantageous.\nWhy join our team\nEvery day, our people bring deep expertise, true innovation to help our customers meet their energy goals.\nHere are the top reasons why out people choose us\nPurpose that is making a positive impact for our customers’ energy future.
