We're at an inflection point: scaling from proof-of-concept to mass-market production.\nThe mission of this role\nThis is a hands on, high ownership role. You'll take new injection moulded products from design into mass production, working closely with our design engineers and manufacturing partners.\nWe're looking for someone who loves being on the line, solving problems at the press, and building the systems that mean we only solve them once. Underlying this you have the technical knowledge to hold our moulding partners to cost, quality and timeline.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign for manufacture\nReview new parts and tools with our design engineers before steel is cut\n\nPush for the design changes that make parts mouldable at volume and at the lowest cost\n\nQuality\nWrite the quality plan for each product: critical dimensions, inspection, sampling and acceptance criteria\n\nDesign the in line testing that proves we hit spec at scale\n\nRun tool trials, process window studies and DOEs\n\nOn the line\nLead products from first off tool through to sign off and ramp\n\nGet to root cause on line issues and fix them for good\n\nLine performance\nTrack OEE, cycle time and scrap across our moulding partners\n\nFind the bottlenecks as we ramp, and bring a better setup when the current one isn't working\n\nProject management\nOwn the launch plan for each product from first tool to ramp\n\nKeep design, materials, partners and customers aligned, and flag risks early\n\nInnovation and technology\nWork with our materials team to build process know how for moulding Vivomer\n\nExplore new tooling, automation and inspection technology to scale faster and cheaper\n\nBeyond\nSet up documentation and change control across our partners\n\nBuild our playbook for bringing new products into production\n\nWho You Are\n3 to 5 years in injection moulding, ideally plastic packaging or high volume consumer products\n\nA degree in mechanical engineering, design engineering or materials/ chemical engineering with industry experience in CAD & tooling\n\nYou've brought new tools into production and stood next to a press solving a problem\n\nProcess fluency: process windows, scientific moulding, DOEs\n\nQuality fluency: metrology, SPC, capability studies\n\nComfortable reviewing CAD and tool designs, Onshape or Solidworks preferred\n\nConfident holding manufacturing partners to account\n\nExcited to build the frontier of how materials are made\n\nHigh tolerance for ambiguity, low tolerance for bureaucracy\n\nExcited about international travel to different manufacturing sites\n\nOur Benefits\n28 days holiday + statutory holidays\n12 weeks maternity, 6 weeks paternity, both at full pay\nHeka wellbeing allowance -
