Electrical construction, testing, commissioning, engineering services, or industrial field services\nResponsibilities\nProject Ownership\nAssume full P&L responsibility for assigned projects\nManage projects ranging from $500k to multi-million-dollar contracts\nProtect and improve project margins through disciplined execution\nMaintain accurate forecasting through project completion\nFinancial Management\nDevelop and manage detailed project budgets\nMonitor labor productivity and cost performance\nMaintain forecasting accuracy and revenue alignment\nIdentify, price, and capture change order opportunities\nManage billing cycles and cash flow exposure\nContract & Scope Control\nInterpret and manage contract requirements\nEnsure scope clarity and enforce structured change management\nLead RFI development and tracking\nPrevent unauthorized scope execution\nRisk Management\nDevelop and maintain formal project risk registers\nProactively mitigate safety, financial, schedule, and resource risks\nEscalate high-impact risks appropriately\nLead contingency and recovery planning\nSchedule Management\nDevelop and manage detailed project schedules\nCoordinate shutdown windows and critical path milestones\nDocument and manage delay impacts\nAlign workforce and engineering resources to schedule demands\nField Leadership & Execution\nLead cross-functional teams including technicians, engineers, and subcontractors\nConduct structured project kickoff meetings\nDrive execution quality and minimize rework\nEnsure disciplined documentation and turnover standards\nClient Relationship Management\nServe as primary client interface\nLead project update meetings and executive briefings\nNavigate conflict professionally while protecting Shermco’s interests\nDevelop opportunities for repeat business\nExecutive Reporting\nProvide clear project performance updates to senior leadership\nPresent risk summaries, financial forecasts, and mitigation plans\nParticipate in post-project reviews and lessons learned sessions\nRequired Qualifications\n7+ years of project management experience in electrical construction, testing, commissioning, engineering services, or industrial field services\nDemonstrated success managing projects exceeding $500,000 in contract value\nStrong financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and margin management\nExperience interpreting contracts and managing change orders\nWorking knowledge of medium- and low-voltage electrical systems\nProven ability to lead large field teams and multi-disciplinary resources\nStrong written and verbal communication skills with executive presence\nEducation\nPreferred: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.\nPreference will be given to candidates with a degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.\nEquivalent combinations of education and significant relevant project management experience in electrical services environments will be considered.\n\nQualifications\nExperience in NETA testing, commissioning, or power systems services\nPMP certification or formal project management training\nBackground in utility, industrial, data center, or mission-critical environments\nExperience managing multi-location or multi-branch teams\n30-35% Travel\nEQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER | DRUG-FREE WORKPLACE\nShermco is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
